The Bahraini Opposition Bloc in Britain stated that the people of Bahrain,
based on the principles of building a modern state, international laws and
statutes, and even the 2002 Constitution, are the ones who hold
sovereignty and are the source of all authorities. Thus, they are the
masters of the decision and the source of real security, stability, and
prosperity, and they form the fundamental basis for the establishment and
construction of the modern state.
In its statement on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, it emphasized that the authority
which denies the most basic civil, political, and economic rights of the
people, and derives its legitimacy and survival from foreign powers,
seeking to appease them through security and economic policies, and
brutal alliances detached from the people, is an authority incapable of
achieving even the lowest levels of security, stability, and prosperity.
The opposition bloc expressed deep concern over the living conditions the
people have reached due to the corrupt policies of the ruling authority,
which indulges in lavish extravagance, funding (with plundered people’s
funds) budgets for naturalization, arms contracts, public relations firms, and
private security budgets. In addition, its current government adopted a
brutal liberal economic vision, which squanders public money, devours the
flesh of the poor, grinds down the middle class, and opens opportunities to
enrich the high class and its private circles.
It was pointed out that the people are suffering under the presence of
hundreds of political prisoners, who remain in the slow death traps of the
prisons, with no crime but opposing the illegitimate authority and its
policies, and demanding reforms to prevent Bahrain from reaching the
misery and hardship that its citizens, both Sunni and Shia, are enduring.
The Bahraini Opposition Bloc in Britain believes that the local, regional, and
global reality is boiling due to the injustice and corruption resulting from
despotism and Pharaonic rule. Change is making its way through the key
junctures of the global system. Therefore, reason and wisdom dictate the
necessity of a serious and urgent political change to protect the nation and
its people, by adopting protective measures centered on the strength of the
internal national front, with the source being that the people, effectively and
realistically, are the holders of sovereignty and the source of all authorities.
