On the first Friday of the blessed month of Ramadan, Bahrain
commemorates the popular entitlement known as ‘’the National
Day for Expelling the American Base from Bahrain’’. This is
because the presence of the American Base in our beloved
country, through its Fifth Fleet in the Juffair area, constitutes a
military occupation that threatens Bahrain’s sovereignty.
The Bahraini people stand with pride and dignity, rejecting the
presence of American military forces on their land. This rejection
is not just a denial of oppression and occupation, but it is one of
the principles affirming the rights of peoples to freely determine
their self-determination. The American military presence distorts
national identity and extinguishes the spirit of independence that
our ancestors fought for. Relying on external forces to protect
Bahrain was never an acceptable means to build lasting and
sustainable security, and never will be. Instead of promoting
stability, the American military presence brings tension and
disturbances to the region, which negatively impacting social
peace and regional balance.
In addition, this military base serves as a supporting agent for the
oppressive Al Khalifa regime, which perpetrates suppression and
murder against the Bahraini people. This presence results in the
plunder of the wealth of the patriotic citizens and its exploitation
for the benefit of the West, depriving them of enjoying their rightful
and unjust benefitsCommemorating this day and responding to these calls reflect our
comprehensive rejection of American occupation and affirm our
right to freedom and independence. It is our voice in realizing our
legitimate aspirations and in striving to build a region where
peoples live in peace and peaceful coexistence, away from
external interventions and colonial occupations. In it, we reclaim
our will, demonstrate our strength, and unify in the face of the
American presence, igniting the flames of resistance to achieve a
future built on the values of freedom, dignity and independence.
