On Sunday, December 15, 2019, the prisoners of opinion- the three sisters Amal, Eman and Fatima Ali – and Madina Ali were released under the so-called “Alternative Penalties Law” issued by Al-Khalifa regime.
The regime had arrested the three sisters – Amal, Eman and Fatima Ali, from the town of Diraz in June 2017 and then set them free on bail of 1,000 BD pending further trial. It arrested them again at dawn on Thursday, November 29, 2018 to implement the judgment of 3 years imprisonment on political accusation, where it continued to refuse any appeal or temporary release to take care of their children, especially that their husbands are being held as well.
The other prisoner –Madina Ali had been detained since May, 2018 on charges of hiding wanted people. In prison, she was subjected to serious violations and abuse, along with Najah Yusuf and Hajer Mansour, who is still detained with Zakia Al- Barbori.
