Event of the Week (Saturday, August 8, 2026): Why Is the Al Khalifa Regime Inciting Against the “Bahrain Martyrs Exhibition”? The Cause of the Bahraini People Brings Iraqis Together in Confronting the Enemies of the Nation
The 14 February Youth Coalition held the ninth edition of the “Bahrain Martyrs Exhibition” in the city of Karbala, coinciding with the commemoration of the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). The exhibition witnessed broad participation by religious and political figures, as well as a large attendance from Bahrain, Iraq, Iran, and other countries. Participants reaffirmed their support for the Bahraini people and their solidarity with the imprisoned scholars of Bahrain.
This year’s “Bahrain Martyrs Exhibition” was distinguished by the diverse participation of religious and political figures from Bahrain and abroad. It highlighted the position of the Bahraini people in condemning the U.S.-Israeli aggression against Iran, as well as the repercussions of their continued rejection of this aggression. In particular, this included the declaration by “the tyrant Hamad” of an open war against the majority of citizens (Shiites), and the resumption of attacks against their beliefs and religious rituals, alongside the arrest and prosecution of prominent scholars on charges related to their rejection of the aggressive war against Iran.
Participants in the exhibition expressed their solidarity with the Bahraini people and their scholars, praising the awareness of the people of Bahrain and its national forces amid the challenges surrounding the region, as well as their steadfastness in confronting American and Israeli ambitions.
The Cause of the Bahraini People Brings Iraqis Together in Confronting the Enemies of the Nation
In November 2017, the Al Khalifa embassy in Baghdad issued a statement objecting to the holding of the “Bahrain Martyrs Exhibition” in Karbala and called on the Iraqi government to identify those responsible for organizing the exhibition and hand them over to the regime’s authorities in Manama.
However, the honorable people of Iraq paid no heed to these efforts and continued to welcome the exhibition, which was held this year on the vital Khayam Street, under the patronage of the representative of the Guardian of the Islamic Jurist (Wilayat al-Faqih) in Iraq.
Amid the restrictions imposed on the Arbaeen pilgrimage, and following the exhibition’s success in defending the Bahraini people and their causes, accounts affiliated with the Al Khalifa intelligence apparatus launched an attack against it, particularly following the participation of the official spokesperson of the Iraqi Fatwa House, Sheikh Amer Al-Bayati.
Al-Bayati called for the release of prisoners among prominent figures and scholars, stressing that the Bahraini movement is a human rights and political cause, not a sectarian one. He also condemned the Al Khalifa regime’s foreign alliances and its normalization with the Zionists.
At a time when sinister plans against Iraq and its people are being prepared under U.S.-Saudi supervision, Sheikh Al-Bayati’s speech at the exhibition warned of the danger of this scheme and affirmed that the nation will remain united in defending the front of truth and resistance.
