Weekly Position: The People of Bahrain Will Cut Off the Hands That Encroach Upon the Rituals of Ashura and Will Never Compromise Their Identity or Their Values of Freedom and Liberation
The Political Council of the February 14 Youth Coalition has issued its weekly statement, the text of which is as follows:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The Political Council of the February 14 Youth Coalition commends the steadfastness and courage demonstrated by our dear people in Bahrain in defending their identity and religious rituals through the commemoration of Ashura of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). It believes that the Husseini and Karbala-inspired positions they have adopted represent a pivotal element in confronting the campaign of eradication being led by “the tyrant Hamad,” and that they will have major repercussions on the path toward bringing down the Al Khalifa project and thwarting the fierce assault being carried out by the “terrorist” Rashid, the Minister of Interior, and his mercenaries.
We affirm that our people in Bahrain are engaged in the battle between truth and falsehood with unwavering certainty. This confrontation extends across all fronts where projects of domination and colonialism operate, along with their sinful agents among the criminal Zionist normalizers.
In this context, we record the following points in our weekly position:
First:
What is taking place in Bahrain constitutes a new foundation for the renaissance of freedom and liberation being achieved by our proud people, based on the following principles:
The unwavering defense of the authentic identity of Bahrain and its people, both Shi’a and Sunni. This is a firmly rooted religious and national position established by generations of ancestors and forefathers to confront the wars of extermination, ethnic cleansing, and displacement that Al Khalifa have waged against the indigenous citizens since their occupation of Bahrain more than 250 years ago.
Preserving the sovereignty of the homeland and its genuine independence by rejecting subordination to forces of occupation and aggression and resisting their projects that threaten the country’s interests and stability.
National struggle for the establishment of a just political system that reflects the will of the people and fulfills their inherent right to self-determination in shaping domestic affairs and defining foreign relations.
Second:
The new phase of the campaign of eradication led by the tyrant Hamad is predominantly sectarian in nature, targeting the Shi’a majority of citizens. It employs extreme measures aimed at uprooting them from their homeland and imposing a comprehensive siege through control over beliefs and religious rituals, dismantling the relationship between society and the institution of scholars and religious authority, and tightening control over religious platforms, including mosques and mourning halls.
However, despite the focus on Shi’a citizens, the fundamental objective is to sever Bahrain and its people from the principles and values that stand as a barrier against integrating the country into the American-Zionist project. This is particularly evident after Al Khalifa failed to erase the long history of struggle of our people and their active forces, or to obscure their firm support for just causes in confronting colonialism and resisting imperialist projects in the region.
Third:
Based on the foregoing, the proud Husseini positions adopted by our people in defending the commemoration of Ashura are an expression of their continuing movement for freedom and liberation. They constitute practical confirmation of their commitment to values that strengthen their steadfastness in confronting global arrogance and corruption led by the criminals Netanyahu and Trump.
Our people will not accept any dictates, distortion, or hijacking of the rituals of Ashura, because these rituals are the intellectual and religious sustenance that nourishes the values of justice, sacrifice for truth, confronting oppressors, and refusing allegiance to criminals and killers.
This explains their determination to trample the tyrant’s decisions underfoot, their participation in massive processions despite his wishes, and their chanting of Husseini slogans in every arena. This is a message to the tyrant that these rituals are the conscience and very existence of the people, and that they will never compromise on them. It is also a message that defending these rituals means defending the values embraced by the resistance fighters in Iran, Lebanon, Gaza, Yemen, and Iraq as they confront Netanyahu, Trump, and the submissive pro-Zionist rulers.
Fourth:
The Husseini people of Bahrain are preparing to continue the Ashura commemorations with even greater momentum as the tenth day of Muharram approaches. This sacred popular momentum will grow stronger in Ashura gatherings and public squares, in ways unforeseen by the tyrant and his mercenaries.
They must understand that arrests and security persecutions will not halt this Karbala-inspired scene, nor will they intimidate a people devoted to Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and his great revolution.
The people do not submit to tyrannical and pro-Zionist criminals. They derive their religion and dignity from the steadfast scholars of Bahrain, who stated in their recent declaration the religious duty of defending the independence of religion and the freedom of religious rituals, and of cutting off the hands of tyrants that interfere in matters of belief and religious obligations determined by just jurists who follow the path of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in protecting religion from unjust rulers and aggressors.
Fifth:
What the tyrant Hamad recently announced regarding the formation of the so-called “Committee for Documenting the Epic of National Resilience” is further evidence of his confusion, bankruptcy, and ill-fated trajectory. This comes after the Islamic Republic succeeded in deterring aggression against it and, together with the Resistance Axis, demonstrated the ability to establish new equations that will lead to unprecedented changes in regional and global balances of power.
Moreover, the aforementioned committee reflects a course adopted by the tyrant Hamad in recent years based on appropriating the literature and slogans of the Bahrain revolution and rebranding them to serve his own deceptive programs. Examples include “Martyrs’ Day,” the “Doctrine of Loyalty,” and concepts such as tolerance, patriotism, and struggle.
This approach of appropriating concepts and values forms part of the fundamental strategy of Al Khalifa to falsify Bahrain’s history and create a misleading narrative that conceals the reality of this ruling tribe, which the statement describes as founded upon occupation, killing, and collaboration with colonial powers. According to the statement, all such efforts will ultimately come to nothing, because what is built on falsehood will vanish and be swept away by the winds.
