In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The Khalifi regime continues to impose more pressure on citizens by all
possible means, undeterred by the sacred month of Allah or humanitarian
situations. Instead, it intensifies its summonses of citizens without
distinction between the elderly and the young, or between men and
women.
Notably, in recent days, there has been an increase in the summoning of
free women for interrogation based on prearranged and malicious charges
aimed at pressuring or retaliating against them. This is evident in the case
of the daughter of Sheikh Ali Al-Jadhafsi, who has been repeatedly
summoned, the latest instance occurring at the beginning of Ramadan—a
time when her role as a homemaker in caring for her family is multiplied
during this month.
While the regime’s security apparatus escalates its threats against the
Sheikh’s daughter, it forces her to sign prearranged, fabricated charges
that have no connection to her. This confirms that the regime is targeting
anyone who, or whose family member, has taken an honorable stance in
support of the people’s just causes.
We, in the Women’s Committee of February 14 Revolution Youth Coalition,
condemn these arbitrary harassments against the noble citizens, especially
the free women. We express our full solidarity with the daughter of Sheikh
Al-Jadhafsi and affirm her right to freedom of opinion and expression, a
right guaranteed internationally.
