On Friday, April 14, 2023, the Women’s Groups of the February 14 Revolution Youth Coalition held its tenth speech festival under the slogan ‘‘West bank is the Shield of Al-Quds’’, during which Arab women activists delivered speeches declaring their solidarity with political prisoners and former women prisoners of conscience in Bahrain.
In this context, ‘’Reham al-Qeeq’’, a member of the International League for Solidarity and Protection of Palestinian Prisoners, called in her speech for the release of all prisoners of conscience from the Al-Khalifa prisons, and Palestinian prisoners from Zionist prisons.
On the occasion of ‘’International Al-Quds Day’’, Al-Qeeq emphasized the importance of solidarity with the Palestinian people and the struggle for their rights in the face of the Zionist occupation’s terrorism, which kills in cold blood the Palestinian civilians, confiscates their lands, works on building settlements, demolishing and burning houses, erecting barriers between cities, and the repeated incursions by settlers under the protection of the Zionist army, as well as burning trees in villages and the daily arresting of children, women, elderly and youth people, especially in the city of Al-Quds, aiming to depopulate it of its Arab residents and endeavouring to judaizing it, with an emphasis on the arrest of the stationed (men and women) in order to secure the incursions of settlers’ hoards into Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Palestinian human rights activist pointed out that the Zionist entity has benefited from the normalization agreements with some Arab countries to cover up its crimes against the Palestinian people and Al-Aqsa Mosque, where normalization is the green light for the occupation to continue its crimes, calling for unifying efforts, especially for women, by establishing a unified Arab body to resist normalization and to pressure all normalized governments to cancel all their agreements with the entity.
As Palestinian Prisoner’s Day approaches on April 17, Al-Qeeq also called for working diligently to release all Palestinian political prisoners (men and women) captives inside the occupation prisons and to declare solidarity with them and with the Lebanese detainee George Abdullah in French prisons, as well as all political detainees in Bahrain and Arab countries.
For her part, the Lebanese prisoner ‘’Hajja Majida Fakih’’ who was released from the Zionist prisons, expressed in her speech her full solidarity with the political detainees and former female detainees, praising the steadfastness of the detainees’ mothers and their patience over the bitterness of the arrest of their piece of their livers, as she emphasized that the captivity despite its bitterness, it will be crowned with a resounding victory.
