Weekly Position: On the Occasion of Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (PBUH): The People of Bahrain Will Never Abandon the Sacred Cause of Defending Truth and Confronting Tyranny
The Political Council of the February 14 Youth Coalition has issued its weekly position statement as follows:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
On the occasion of the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), we extend our sincere condolences to all Muslims, free people around the world, and our dear people in Bahrain. We affirm that the millions-strong Arbaeen pilgrimage to the holy city of Karbala will remain a symbol of the strength of truth and the steadfastness of its faithful supporters, no matter how tyrants escalate their crimes or how the forces of evil and corruption intensify their oppression.
On this great occasion, we reaffirm the steadfast position of the people of Bahrain in remaining committed to the path of faith, dignity, and honor, while preserving the values of Ashura and its divine mission of defending truth and resisting injustice and tyrants. This sacred cause shall continue to be protected through sacrifices and devotion. The distortion and falsification led by the tyrant Hamad and his terrorist Interior Minister Rashid will never undermine its purity. Our people will renew their allegiance to the path of Imam Hussein by participating in every arena and public gathering, commemorating the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (PBUH) with the eternal slogans that will echo loudly: “Labbayka Ya Hussein” (At Your Service, O Hussein) and “Even if our legs and hands are cut off, we shall crawl to you, O our Master Hussein.”
In this context, we record the following points in this week’s position:
1. The arrogance of the tyrant and his criminal regime, together with their insistence on preventing our people from participating in the Arbaeen pilgrimage and imposing security restrictions on visits to the holy shrines in Iraq, Iran, and Syria, reflects an undeniable reality that has existed since the occupation of our homeland began. The Al Khalifa entity continues its aggressive occupation policy aimed at uprooting the indigenous people of Bahrain by targeting their historic identity and waging war against their religious and social institutions, established over generations by distinguished religious scholars. The occupiers have realized that this religious system has always been the fortress that enabled the people of Bahrain to resist every foreign occupation throughout history.
2. Another reality that continues to trouble the Al Khalifa family is that two and a half centuries of occupation, killing, persecution, rape, and oppression have failed to achieve their objective of erasing the identity and existence of the Bahraini people. The tyrant Hamad has been the most brutal among the Al Khalifa rulers in attacking the people’s faith and religious rituals, believing he could accomplish what his predecessors had failed to achieve. He relied on a malicious plan, the early signs of which appeared through political naturalization, the recruitment of mercenaries, the marginalization of Shi’a citizens and their institutions and religious platforms, followed by sectarian incitement, the persecution of religious scholars, and an open war against religious beliefs and rituals, accompanied by terrorism, killings, revocation of citizenship, and forced displacement.
3. We affirm that the tyrant’s war against our people’s beliefs and religious practices forms part of a systematic campaign of revenge, supported by Gulf governments, Zionist forces, and the United States, in response to the popular and national rejection of the Al Khalifa regime’s policies of normalization, dependency, and authoritarianism. This trilogy of evil has reduced the tyrant to a complete instrument of the criminal projects led by Netanyahu and Trump across the region and the world. Nevertheless, our people have never abandoned their humanitarian, national, and religious principles. They have challenged Hamad’s collaboration and betrayal by firmly supporting the oppressed peoples of Palestine, Lebanon, and Yemen, standing against the American-Zionist aggression on the Muslim people of Iran, and maintaining their categorical rejection of foreign military bases in Bahrain because they violate the will of the people and serve as launching grounds for aggression against the resistance movements and their peoples.
4. We reaffirm our political vision regarding the current situation in Bahrain and the region. We believe that our country remains under the unjust occupation of the Al Khalifa family, who have conspired against the people of Bahrain through oppression and aggression. Our people’s aspiration has always been to attain freedom and justice through the establishment of a genuine constitutional state. However, the occupying Al Khalifa rulers have intensified their conspiracy against the people by allying themselves with Zionists, Americans, and extremist groups, while continuing to bring foreign military bases and forces into Bahrain by land, air, and sea. The latest example is the deployment of Italian forces, preceded by efforts to recruit terrorist militias affiliated with the al-Jolani regime in Syria. Under these conditions of occupation and betrayal, the path capable of fulfilling the will of the people is the achievement of freedom, justice, and full national sovereignty. This path begins with drafting a new constitution by the people themselves through their genuine representatives, ensuring the complete end of Al Khalifa occupation and the removal of all its destructive consequences and the countless tragedies it has inflicted.
