The Political Council of the February 14 Revolution Youth Coalition issued
its weekly position, which reads as follows:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The Political Council of the February 14 Revolution Youth Coalition
condemns the propaganda efforts undertaken by the Khalifi regime in
Bahrain during the holy month of Ramadan. These actions are aimed at
concealing its ban on the largest Friday prayer in the country and its
systematic targeting of citizens’ religious practices, as well as covering up
the financial and economic depletion plaguing the nation due to the tyrant
Hamad and his sons’ manipulation of state properties and the wealth of
future generations. On one hand, the regime has promoted its alleged
commitment to restoring and maintaining several mosques across the
country while continuing its theatrical display of “peaceful coexistence” and
celebrating the UN’s approval of an annual commemoration of this
occasion. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to pass the new budget under
the guise of repeated promises of new housing plans and the provision of
thousands of residential units. These two narratives serve as the façade for
the looming catastrophe facing the nation and its people. This calls for the
urgent acceleration of a comprehensive project to counter this criminal
persistence in violating—both the people’s identity and the nation’s
resources.
In this context, we highlight the following key points in our weekly position:
1- The planning continues for the passage of the General Budget
Project (2025-2026) as a means to conceal the next phase of
systematic corruption that will target the state’s wealth, funds, and
properties. This goes hand in hand with efforts to mitigate the
backlash against the latest measures aimed at worsening citizens’
livelihoods by removing subsidies on electricity, water, and gasoline.
Additionally, the Khalifi regime is devising new methods to impose
fees and taxes, which will have suffocating consequences and further
deteriorate the economic and living conditions of the people. We
consider the regime’s promotion of the construction of 50,000
housing units to be an inseparable part of its long-standing deception
of public opinion—a practice Al Khalifa has mastered for ages. This is
yet another link in a long chain of lies inherited by the tyrant Hamad
from his predecessors. People still remember the infamous “Land for
Every Citizen” promise he made in 2006, only to later witness the
graves dug by his torturers and the deepening poverty, deprivation,
and loss of adequate housing that engulfed the citizens.
2- The false promises made by the tyrant and his corrupt sons, along
with the so-called reforms promised by the upcoming budget project,
will have no real meaning or benefit in correcting the situation or
saving the country from the impending disaster. This is because part
of the country’s economic and financial problems stems from the
tyrant’s corruption, his criminal actions, and the draining of the
nation’s wealth to fund the frivolous lifestyles and sporting hobbies of
his teenage sons. The citizens will not believe the tyrant and his sons’
feigned sympathy for their suffering when they witness the network of
corruption managed by the royal court, the secret expenditures of the
tyrant’s sons, their cronies, and mercenaries, the wastage of state
funds to buy allegiances, fund foreign lobbies, exchange interests
with colonial companies and fuel the greed of major merchants.
3- There is no doubt that the economic crisis and its devastating effects
on the nation and its citizens are among the common concerns that
occupy the attention of our people in Bahrain, across all its
components, affiliations, and regions. There is a consensus among
the people on the principle of a dignified life and the rejection of
tampering with generational reserves, as well as squandering the
nation’s resources and wealth, and undermining its social security.
However, this common concern must be translated into practical
actions that affirm the popular and national consensus in confronting
the brutal economic policies and systematic corruption that are
draining the pockets of citizens. This should be combined with wide
popular and trade-union protests to prevent the passage of corrupt,
wasteful, and plundering policies and budgets. Furthermore, this
should be supported by a unified national stance to liberate the nation
from the rule of tyranny, impoverishment, and subjugation to foreign
policies.
4- We reaffirm our firm position that no economic reform will be
complete and effective unless accompanied by a fundamental
political reform that eradicates the root of corruption by dismantling
the rule of oppression and tyranny. In this context, we emphasize that
corruption and tyranny are two sides of the same coin, and they are a
cancer that eats away at the structure of the Khalifi regime, from top
to bottom. Any attempt to patch up or reconcile with them will end in
failure and disappointment. Everyone must be convinced of the futility
of temporary solutions and painkiller treatments with this malignant
regime. The solution must be radical and permanent, and this can
only be guaranteed by a constitution written by the people
themselves, one that meets all their rights and establishes the
foundation for the creation of a dignified, just state with full popular
sovereignty.
5- In conclusion, we call for proper preparation to commemorate
“International Al-Quds Day” on the last Friday of Ramadan under the
slogan “We Are Committed to the Pledge, O Al-Quds.” This great
event comes this year amid a decisive moment the nation is facing as
it contends with the global arrogance’s attempts, led by the greatest
Satan, to amplify the Zionist project and eliminate the Palestinian
cause, while besieging the resistance and its noble forces in Gaza,
Yemen, Syria, and Lebanon, and threatening to launch aggression
against the Islamic Republic of Iran. These major challenges are the
ordeal of the ongoing struggle between the forces of truth and
falsehood, which requires the oppressed peoples of the world,
especially the peoples of resistance and their forces, to exert more
steadfastness and resilience in confronting the American-Zionist
hegemonic plan, and that their spiritual and faith-driven strength
during the days and nights of Ramadan must support them in
continuing their blessed journey towards freedom and liberation.
