Director of the Political Bureau of the 14 February Revolution Youth Coalition in Beirut, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Aradi, participated in a rhetorical festival in London, on the occasion of the twelfth anniversary of the launch of the glorious 14 February Revolution, entitled ‘’steadfastness and fortitude until victory’’.
In his speech, Al-Aradi asked about price that Bahrainis have to pay under the authoritarian regime until they meet their loved ones who are in prisons.
He explained that the large number of arrests in conjunction with the anniversary of the revolution prove that this regime is living in a state of panic since the revolution began.
The President of the Islamic Council for Culture and Media, Sheikh ‘’Hassan Al-Triki’’ criticized the West’s double-standard stance that calls for human rights, but ignores the human rights situation in Bahrain, saying: ‘’Religious scholars have been unfairly detained for 12 years without crime or guilt, and the world is silent about this crime and does not talk about it’’.
The participants in the festival affirmed their position in support of the people of Bahrain, expressing their solidarity with the political detainees and calling for their release and to emptying the prisons completely of them. They also stressed that the revolution continues and the regime has failed to frustrate it and that Bahrainis on this anniversary are more determined than before to continue.
The festival also featured a documentary showing the suffering, injustice and criminality that the people of Bahrain has plagued by the Al-Khalifa regime.
