The February 14 Coalition denounced the non-abolition of the “Formula-1” race in Bahrain by Al-Khalifa regime , with the spread of the Corona epidemic (covid-19) in several countries of the world whose teams will participate in it, describing it as unprecedented folly.
In a press release on Friday, March 6, 2020, it made it clear that the insolence of the regime does not stop there, but rather exceeds it to hit the depth of feelings, human rights and human values across the wall, where more than 1300 Bahraini citizens have been staying in the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq a month ago. The regime did not exert any effort to return them , as the rest of the countries did and do with their nationals in other countries when any emergency happens to them, as is happening now, with the spread of Corona virus in many countries.
The coalition added that while Al-Khalifa regime confirmed the establishment of Formula-1 races and announced special health measures for incoming teams, with the allocation of health escorts for them, it ignore the status of stranded people in the Iranian and Iraqi lands, who are waiting for the moment they return to their families and homes, knowing that some of the countries that hosted the race or will host it has never refused to receive any team coming from a affected country, which confirms the fact that this regime , whose only concern is the stealing of the financial returns from this race and distribute it to the dictator Hamad and his sons, and the extent of the sectarian hatred and the failure to deal with any issue related to the safety of citizens.
The February 14 Coalition renewed its position to reject the establishment of Formula races in Bahrain, which is under the yoke of the Saudi-Emirati occupation, for political and human rights reasons, explaining that its refusal in this year is doubled as it relates to the safety of citizens, with fear of the spread of the Corona virus as a result of the teams participating in this race as well from the public following these races, who are from many countries, they will only be subject to “formal and inaccurate” health measures.
Finally, it affirmed its solidarity with the citizens stuck in some countries where the virus has spread, especially those in Iran, and thanked the Kuwaiti people for their cooperation and their honorable humanitarian stance with the people of Bahrain.
