A number of prisoners of conscience, who have infected with skin diseases, demanded the right to treatment and providing them with medications quickly, due to the deterioration of their health condition.
Human rights sources have quoted them, via voice messages, as saying that they are suffering too much because of the denial of treatment.
The prisoner Hassan Attia said “Scabies is eating our bodies”, demanding the right of eliminating this disease and providing treatment.
“the allergy has spread through my entire body until it reached my fingers and feet, and I sleep in an overcrowded cell without ventilation and all the circumstances help the disease to be spread, without proper medical care so far”, the prisoner Abdul Jalil Hassan said.
The prisoner Hussein Abdullah Salman said ” I’m living in a cell of 8-people capacity, but there are 16 prisoners inside it, where 10 of them are infected with allergies in the body, we do not get proper treatment and we cannot expose to the sun”.
Hassan Ali Mohamed Verdan said ” we are suffering from scabies since 4 months ago, and we have an outbreak of scabies that causes of infection among prisoners. “In many cases, the blood comes out by the frequent itching, and we have tried to resort to the prison administrations for finding a solution, but we were subjected to punishment and solitary confinement” he added.
It is noting that the prisoners in the central prison of Joe suffer from the spread of skin diseases, especially –scabies, with the absence of medical care, deliberate neglect, lack of hygiene inside the cells.
The prisoners in building-12 have complained of an outbreak of scabies, due to the overcrowding in the cells, the lack of ventilation, as well as the lack of treatment with the appearance of tumors on the skin.
The prisoners are demanding the provision of treatment for patients under the supervision of a specialist doctor, changing blankets and mattresses, providing cotton clothes, get rid of old clothes, and giving them anti- proliferation powder to eliminate the bug causing the disease.
