The Jurist Leader Qasim Offers Condolences on the Martyrdom of Sayyid Muhammad al-Mousawi
The jurist leader, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qasim, issued a statement of condolence for the victim of torture, the martyr Sayyid Muhammad al-Mousawi. The text reads:
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Peace and blessings be upon the noblest of prophets and messengers, Muhammad, and his pure and immaculate family.
“Give glad tidings to the patient—those who, when disaster strikes them, say: ‘Indeed, we belong to God, and indeed to Him we shall return.’ Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy, and it is they who are rightly guided.”
(Surat Al-Baqarah 2:155–157)
The believing individual among the citizens of Bahrain no longer holds, in the eyes of its official politics—and for the sake of America—the weight of even an ant, nor the worth of a gnat, nor the value of any insect. Tearing his body apart while he is alive, so that he dies under the severity of torture, has become nothing but a means of amusement, gratification, and a way to seek the approval of those who drain the blood of the righteous among the people of the world.
It is under the sight of God that this righteous servant, Sayyid Muhammad al-Mousawi, and others like him are tortured in service of global injustice, and indeed God is severe in punishment. The people of Bahrain will not forget their injustices.
May God greatly reward his noble father, his honorable family, and the believers among the people of Bahrain and the faithful people who remain alive and steadfast.
Isa Ahmad Qasim
