Statement Issued by Bahrain Operations Room (9): Monitoring the Use of Martyr Al-Nimr Bridge (King Fahd Causeway) for Military Purposes
Bahrain Operations Room has monitored, through its field observations and verified intelligence sources, the transformation of Martyr Al-Nimr Bridge (formerly King Fahd Causeway) into a U.S. military logistical route. It is being used to transport military equipment from Juffair Base toward Riyadh and vice versa, in addition to the organized movement of American troops from Bahrain to Saudi territory.
This use turns a vital civilian facility connecting two countries into a potential target in any military escalation, and represents a clear violation of the bridge’s intended purpose, which is supposed to be exclusively for civilian and commercial movement.
Accordingly, Bahrain Operations Room calls on:
The Khalifa authorities, if they possess an independent sovereign decision, to immediately and decisively prevent the use of the bridge for military purposes, and to restrict it to its natural role as a civilian and commercial crossing that serves the interests of the two peoples, not as a channel for transporting instruments of war.
Citizens and residents in Bahrain and other Gulf countries to avoid using Martyr Al-Nimr Bridge (formerly King Fahd Causeway) during this critical period, as it has become a passage for U.S. forces and a route for their military operations, which exposes any civilian presence on it to direct danger.
Bahrain Operations Room holds the responsible parties accountable for any emergency or incident that may occur as a result of the continued militarization of the bridge, and affirms that it will continue monitoring everything that threatens the safety of citizens. It also renews its call for everyone to exercise the highest level of caution and to stay away from locations that have become potential targets in the ongoing conflict.
May God protect Bahrain and its proud people.
