Statement by the Women’s Committee of the February 14 Coalition:
The Arrest of Women Once Again Confirms That the Al Khalifa Regime Has No Red Lines
The Women’s Committee of the February 14 Coalition issued the following statement regarding the renewed arrest of women:
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The Al Khalifa regime, which acts as an agent of the Americans and is complicit with them and with the Zionists in their aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, has launched a frenzied campaign of arrests against Bahraini citizens. This comes in retaliation for their stance in support of the just cause, their solidarity with Iran and Lebanon, and their rejection of the continued presence of bases of evil in our country.
It is not surprising that the charges — and even the verdicts — are prepared in advance, nor that the cheap propaganda outlets accuse the proud sons of our people of treason. However, for this barbaric regime to once again proceed with the arrest of women means that it no longer observes any restraints. Rather, it has opened the door wide to exact revenge against the people, in an attempt to cover up the losses it has incurred as a result of opening the country to serve as a launching point for military operations against Iran in the first place, and secondly because it has been unable to bear the consequences of doing so. Thus, it has found no option other than venting its spite against the people and attempting to silence their voice that speaks the truth.
We, in the Women’s Committee of the February 14 Youth Coalition, declare our solidarity with the two free female prisoners, Bdoor Abdulhamid Ali and Sara Abdulnabi, and we condemn this blatant arrest — particularly the defamation directed against them and the fabrication of malicious charges. We emphasize their right to freedom without any condition or restriction.
