Weekly Event (Friday – February 20, 2026): “Hamad” in Washington After an 18-Year Absence.. Why Did the Tyrant Attend Trump’s “Colonial Council” Meeting?
The tyrant of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, personally participated in the first meeting of the so-called “Peace Council,” which was held on February 19, 2026, in Washington, D.C. under the chairmanship of U.S. President Donald Trump.
This visit ended the tyrant’s absence from Washington, which had lasted since 2008.
Although Hamad was the only “head of state” among the Arab and Gulf participants in Trump’s council, this did not prevent Trump from openly and sharply mocking him in his opening remarks at the “council,” which the Americans intend to establish as a new platform for domination.
Trump’s condescending and sarcastic tone may have been one of the reasons why other heads of state from countries involved in the “Peace Council” refrained from attending its first meeting in person, opting instead for ministerial-level representation, as was the case with Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
However, the tyrant Hamad seized this occasion to end his prolonged isolation from the United States and to initiate the final steps preceding the transfer of power to his son, Salman.
Analysts believe that Hamad’s participation was a “reward” for the Al Khalifa regime’s completion of the requirements for full alignment with the American-Zionist alliance. This alignment was further reinforced by their belief that the Gulf Cooperation Council is no longer a safe or sufficient umbrella to guarantee their protection, especially after repeated fractures within the Gulf bloc.
Hamad Hosts a Reception for Participants in Trump’s “Colonial Council”
The tyrant’s presence in Washington turned into a propaganda spectacle when he hosted a “reception” for participants in the first meeting of Trump’s colonial council. Among those present were senior figures close to Trump, including his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and Steve Witkoff.
The reception reflected Hamad’s personality, characterized by a love of showmanship and lavish displays—behavior that serves to mask an inferiority complex stemming from the contempt with which Bahraini citizens regard him and their use of labels that reflect the crimes of his dark era.
Hamad’s visit to Washington appeared to be a culmination of the Al Khalifa regime’s compliance with the conditions imposed upon them in exchange for American and Zionist protection from popular anger and regional upheavals alike. This explains their accelerated submission to the American-Zionist project, as they have come to view Washington and Tel Aviv as their final safe haven.
