Statement: We Call for the Broadest Participation in the Programs of the “National Day to Expel the U.S. Base from Bahrain” and the “Week of Solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran”
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The people of Bahrain commemorate, on the first Friday of the blessed month of Ramadan each year, the “National Day to Expel the U.S. Base from Bahrain.” This occasion was launched by the February 14 Youth Coalition in 2017 as a national project of strategic dimension and a firm popular stance embodying the rejection of foreign presence on Bahraini soil. It expresses an authentic commitment to national sovereignty, the preservation of dignity, and the independence of national decision-making.
This year, the occasion assumes greater urgency and sensitivity amid highly complex and dangerous regional circumstances, with escalating U.S. threats to launch an unjust aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran. These threats have been accompanied by notable military mobilization and repeated statements hinting at the option of war, raising concerns over grave repercussions for regional security and stability.
This tense landscape reinforces the conviction that the project of the “National Day to Expel the U.S. Base from Bahrain” did not emerge in a vacuum. Rather, it represents a vital national and strategic choice aimed at safeguarding Bahrain and its people from looming dangers, protecting its security and sovereignty, and preventing the country from being drawn into regional conflicts that do not reflect the will of its people nor serve their supreme interests.
The steadfast and honorable stance of the Bahraini people clearly and explicitly expresses solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the face of unjust U.S. threats. Our people, along with their active forces, affirm their categorical rejection of the use of Bahraini land, airspace, or territorial waters in any act of aggression targeting neighboring Iran. The people will not stand idly by in the face of any U.S. aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran. They will express their firm rejection, with all available means and capabilities, of any attempt to use the U.S. base in Juffair or any other military facility on Bahraini soil as a platform for aggression.
Standing alongside the Islamic Republic of Iran represents an alignment with the values of truth and justice and with the option of resistance in the face of the global system of hegemony led by the United States of America.
Based on our national and moral responsibility, we call upon the noble people of Bahrain to engage at the broadest levels in the activities of the “National Day to Expel the U.S. Base from Bahrain” and the “Week of Solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” from Friday, February 20, to Friday, February 27 of this year.
We also urge our people to maintain an active presence in the various events and activities scheduled across all regions of Bahrain, in addition to intensifying media engagement across social media platforms, in affirmation of the authentic stance of the Bahraini people—one that differs from the position of the ruling Al Khalifa regime, which has pursued policies contrary to popular will and aligned itself with alliances serving the agendas and expansionist projects of the Israeli entity in the region.
