Weekly Position: Committed to the Words of Ayatollah Isa Qassim on Continuing the Change Movement and Not Abandoning the Goals and Values of the February 14 Revolution
The Political Council of the February 14 Youth Coalition issued its weekly position statement, which reads as follows:
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The Political Council of the February 14 Youth Coalition extends its sincere appreciation and gratitude to the people of Bahrain who demonstrated their national presence across all arenas and squares in commemoration of the fifteenth anniversary of the February 14 Revolution under the unified opposition slogan: “15 Years… Steadfast.”
Our loyal people have proven their vitality and engagement with the historic anniversary marking the launch of their glorious revolution, affirming their sincerity toward its goals and principles raised at the beginning of the movement. The long years have not weakened their steadfast commitment to their national choices, despite the heavy burden of suffering and immense sacrifices.
On this occasion, we record the following key points in this weekly position:
1. We fully recognize the harsh and difficult conditions endured by our giving people in Bahrain, especially under the machinery of repression and terror that surrounds them everywhere. However, this has not prevented their active presence on the anniversary of the revolution, serving as clear testimony to all of their exceptional character, the strength of their faith, and their ability to defeat the regime’s bet on repression and starvation to silence them and force their surrender. Faith and higher values are the strength of our people and the secret of their existence and continuity in confronting the destructive Al Khalifa project. Therefore, the project of consolidating identity and strengthening faith-based awareness stands at the forefront of the priorities of confrontation and fundamental change, which requires broad efforts in integrated work and joint coordination by all.
2. We express our full commitment to all the contents of the speech delivered by the jurist leader Isa Qassim on the occasion of the fifteenth anniversary of the February 14 Revolution. In his speech, he affirmed the authenticity of the faith-based project in confronting corruption, tyranny, and forces of domination, and emphasized that this project must remain in constant ascent, continuous integration, and progressive advancement. This must proceed through ongoing development, constructive self-review, and effective use of available capabilities, without allowing the change movement to fall into despair or frustration due to surrounding challenges.
3. As the revolution enters its new year, its goals and demands have become more powerful and urgent, because the reality of injustice, oppression, and subordination in our country has reached worse levels than in previous years. We believe this increases the responsibility upon everyone to respond to this challenge, especially given the escalating decline of the ruling family in Bahrain and the deepening of its corruption and its alignment with the enemies of the people and the nation. Accordingly, we renew our call for the words of Ayatollah Isa Qassim to serve as a practical framework urging all concerned parties to engage in serious dialogue and consultation in order to produce a renewed launch of the revolution, grounded in its just goals, its firmly established peaceful nature, and its moral commitment to seeking good for all. This must take shape in practical and integrated programs that reflect the people’s awareness, their values, the vitality of their loyal forces, and their genuine will for change.
4. The tyrant Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his corrupt ruling family attempted to distort the February 14 Revolution and its noble goals by intensifying official celebrations of the “National Charter” anniversary and expanding them through orchestrated events under the so-called “Isa the Great Year,” as part of an ongoing plan of cultural erasure targeting our people and the history of our country. However, these fabricated celebrations have only further cemented the image of the “lying king,” in whom our people have lost trust since he broke his pledges and agreements and overturned them in broad daylight. He has become a symbol of betrayal and deception after his malicious role in manipulation and misdirection was exposed throughout the years preceding the 2011 revolution. He exploited those circumstances to engineer dangerous projects threatening the present and future of our people through political naturalization, distortion of Bahrain’s authentic history and culture, targeting the existence and identity of citizens, and initiating the transformation of the country into an absolute Al Khalifa feudal domain that satisfies the greed of merchants and predatory capital, while serving American and Zionist interests and their projects of aggression and domination over the region and its peoples.
