🔷️🔶️Statement: Symbol Hassan Mushaima Is Subjected to a Premeditated Killing Crime, and Our Dignified People Will Not Stand Idly By
🔻Issued by the February 14 Youth Coalition regarding the grave deterioration in the health condition of the symbol Hassan Mushaima. The full text follows:
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
🔶️ What is being inflicted upon the national figure and symbol, Professor Hassan Mushaima, has reached the stage of an immediate and direct threat to his life. The voice that emerged from his prison cell is nothing but a final warning from a body collapsing under the weight of torture through deliberate medical neglect, and from a life being forcibly pushed toward the edge of death.
🔷️ We warn the criminal Al-Khalifi regime: our dignified people will not stand idly by while Professor Mushaima remains under detention at this advanced age and amid this severe deterioration in his health. What is taking place is the implementation of a policy of slow killing. We declare that every hour that passes without his release, and every day he is deprived of free and proper medical treatment, constitutes a heinous criminal act added to the record of the criminal Al-Khalifi regime, bringing it one step closer to an inescapable responsibility.
🔶️ Silence or procrastination is no longer acceptable. Depriving the symbol Mushaima of his right to medical treatment—while he is 78 years old and after fifteen years of imprisonment—is a “killing in progress,” a premeditated crime with all its elements complete, and one that cannot be tolerated.
🔷️ Hereby, we place full and direct responsibility for the life of the symbol Professor Hassan Mushaima upon the head of the Al-Khalifi regime, and we affirm that any further deterioration or health collapse will constitute a documented crime that cannot be justified or concealed. Rather, it will be the result of a political decision by the dictator Hamad to keep him on a path of slow killing.
🔶️ In conclusion, the immediate and unconditional release of Professor Mushaima, and enabling him—without any restriction or condition—to receive the medical treatment he requires, inside Bahrain or abroad, is the minimum human right that can no longer tolerate delay. Continuing to detain him in prison constitutes an explicit choice to proceed down the path of a fully realized crime.
