🔶️🔷️ Weekly Statement: The Narrative of the People and the Martyrs on 17 December — An Authentic Identity Confronting Tribal Despotism, Normalization, and Dependency

In the Name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate
🔶️ We affirm, on the great anniversary of Martyrs’ Day and the anniversary of the passing of the mujahid scholar Sheikh Abdul Amir Al-Jamri (may God sanctify his soul), on 17–18 December, our vision regarding the nature of the ongoing conflict between the people of Bahrain and the Al Khalifa tribe. We believe that this conflict is founded on a fundamental contradiction between the identity of the indigenous citizens on the one hand and the Khalifa occupiers on the other.
The former identity is rooted in attachment to the land, its history, and its culture, which shaped the people’s values of freedom and dignity. In contrast, the identity of the Al Khalifa is that of occupiers who seized the country and its people through settler-colonial policies, with their character formed by treachery, annihilation, and alignment with colonial powers.
On the occasion of commemorating the righteous martyrs, we stress the centrality of this perspective in interpreting the history of the Khalifa invasion, the nature of tribal alliances with Zionist imperialism, and the brutal oppression inflicted upon our country and people, including the coercion of the population into assimilating into the invading Khalifa identity.
🔻On this occasion, we record in this weekly statement the following key points:

🔶️ 1. In the framework of shaping vision, interpretive understanding, and defining the practical program, we affirm that bloodshed, forced labor, displacement, and violations of honor were not temporary practices confined to the moment of the Khalifa occupation—particularly in 1783. Rather, these disgraceful acts were deeply ingrained in the structure of the Al Khalifa tribe throughout its obscure history as it moved across the deserts of the Arabian Peninsula, culminating in the invasion of Bahrain after accumulating a legacy of revenge and sectarian violence, under the influence of its complex relationship with Wahhabism in the early nineteenth century.
We call for adopting this lens to connect historical developments and to ensure precision in laying the foundations of cultural and political resistance, thereby securing effective success in defining the objectives of oppositional action.

🔷️ 2. We stress that the commemoration of Martyrs’ Day on 17 December is a central and non-negotiable occasion—not only as an expression of sincere loyalty to the pure blood of the martyrs and the demand for retribution against their killers, but also because it has become a pivotal milestone in the decisive struggle between the people and the Al Khalifa, for the following reasons:
♦️ A. Its association with the Intifada of Dignity (December 1994), which has become a fundamental component of revolutionary consciousness across generations.
♦️ B. The contradiction between Martyrs’ Day (17 December) and the so-called Day of the Tyrant’s Accession or the fabricated National Day (16 December), reflecting the intensification of the struggle between the identities of the two sides.
♦️ C. The Al Khalifa’s insistence on forcing the people to celebrate the Day of Accession while prohibiting the commemoration of Martyrs’ Day, as an expression of their anxiety over the growth of awareness of the people’s identity and the rejection of the alien Khalifa identity.
♦️ D. The Al Khalifa’s blatant and reckless confrontation of this anniversary by declaring the so-called “Day of the Martyr” to glorify their slain mercenaries, with the tyrant and his sons marking this day through military displays, extensive programs, and large budget allocations, while continuing open hostility toward the people’s martyrs and honoring their killers with medals and decorations.

🔷️ 3. In the atmosphere of Martyrs’ Day, and after this glorious day has become firmly established as a fundamental symbol in the struggle, we renew our call to scholars, researchers, intellectuals, and free thinkers in Bahrain to produce awareness, knowledge, and revival of the marginalized narrative concerning the history of the homeland, society, and the authentic people. We urge them to confront, scientifically, culturally, and through the media, the lies of the tyrant Hamad and the narrative of his invading ancestors regarding the so-called “conquest” of Bahrain, to expose the takfiri and terrorist backgrounds behind this suspicious term, and to reveal how it serves as a cover for committing the most heinous forms of cultural genocide against our people. This includes plans to uproot collective memory and erase the historical and cultural presence of the country’s indigenous population. We regard this battle as a national, religious, and existential responsibility at this critical stage of the struggle.

🔶️ 4. We express our condemnation and contempt for what was stated in the speech of the Minister of Terrorism, Rashid Abdullah Al Khalifa, on the occasion of the so-called Bahrain Police Day. We affirm that the lies he spreads about values, security, and tolerance will not remove him from the list of those wanted for justice on charges of bloodshed and violations of sanctities, especially after the February 14, 2011 uprising. He bears responsibility for implementing an open war against religious rituals, targeting senior religious scholars, and orchestrating a systematic plan to hollow out the values and beliefs of society in favor of implanting a distorted identity based on loyalty to the tyrant and his mercenaries, promoting moral decay, capitalist savagery, and subservience to Americans and Zionists.
