Al-Ustadhah Balqis Ramadan: The Results of the Popular Referendum Represent the Most Civilized Gateway to a Future that Accommodates Everyone in Bahrain

The President of the National Independent Authority for the Popular Referendum, Al-Ustadhah Balqis Ramadan, stated that the results of the popular referendum constitute a realistic national roadmap to rescue Bahrain from the cycle of crises, and mark the beginning of a stage in which the people regain their natural role in determining their own destiny.

In a series of posts published on the Authority’s official account on the X platform on Saturday, 22 November 2025, she emphasized that implementing the results of the popular referendum is a national necessity, as the people must be the ones to decide the form of the political system that governs them.

Ramadan said:
“On this national day, we proudly remember everyone who participated in the popular referendum—those who said ‘yes’ to the right to self-determination, and those who said ‘no’ in expression of their free opinion. That moment embodied the fact that the homeland is spacious enough for everyone.”
She extended her greetings to the administrative teams and volunteers who worked quietly and sincerely to complete the referendum, proving that national work is an act of love and responsibility.

She praised Bahraini women, who stood at the forefront of the referendum in organization, voting, and presence, expressing pride in their unforgettable role in writing this national chapter.

Al-Ustadhah Balqis Ramadan affirmed that the National Independent Authority for the Popular Referendum is ready to assume any new national responsibility, for the will of the people is greater than all challenges and stronger than any security circumstances, no matter how severe. She expressed her belief that Bahrain deserves a future that accommodates everyone—a future that can only be written by the voice of its people. She noted that the results of the popular referendum represent the most civilized gateway to reaching that future.

She added:
“Every year, the people of Bahrain are well, and with every renewed anniversary our conviction grows that the hopes of the overwhelming majority of citizens will be fulfilled, and that the homeland will open its doors to its children through a decision made by the people themselves.”
