Statement of Congratulations to Iraq on the Success of the Elections and the Consolidation of the Democratic Path
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
We extend our highest expressions of congratulations and blessings to the great nation of Iraq — to its wise religious authority, which has always been and remains the safeguard of the people’s will; to its conscious national leadership; and to its noble people — on the success of the recent elections, which truly represented a majestic democratic celebration. In this event, the Iraqi people demonstrated their deep awareness and firm determination to remain the genuine source of all authority and to shape their own future with their free will.
Once again, Iraq has proven itself to be the fortress of popular will in the region, where there is no place for despotism or tutelage over the consciousness of nations. From the ballot boxes, the free voice of Iraq emerged, defying all attempts at discouragement, distortion, and blatant America interference, affirming that when the people will to live, the arrogance of tyranny shall never prevail.
At a time when some regimes in the region continue to shackle their peoples, monopolize power, and exclude national will, Iraq today rises as a living example that belief in freedom and democracy is not merely a slogan repeated by despotic rulers, but rather a path of struggle, blood, and sacrifice — and an expression of both popular and official commitment to the peaceful transfer of power.
All salutations to the steadfast Iraqi people; all reverence to the religious authority that guided this path with wisdom and foresight; and all appreciation to every hand that contributed to achieving this great democratic victory.
