Statement by Religious Scholars and Political Figures in Jau Prison Condemning the Violation Against Imam Al-Husayn (peace be upon him)

A statement was issued by the detained religious scholars and political leaders in Jau Central Prison condemning the violation against the sanctity of the Master of Martyrs, Imam Al-Husayn, and the Heroine of Karbala (peace be upon them), and demanding that those responsible for this disgraceful act be held accountable. The statement reads as follows:

> “Say, I ask of you no reward for it except love for my near relatives.” (Qur’an 42:23)

Love for the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), the obligation to honor them, and the prohibition of insulting them are among the fundamental and unanimously agreed-upon principles of Islam. The violation against the sanctity of the Master of Martyrs and the Heroine of Karbala is a heinous act and an unforgivable crime.

We have witnessed similar transgressions in the early days of our imprisonment, which indicates a deliberate persistence in this wrongdoing. Hence, it cannot be dismissed as an isolated individual act; rather, it is the permissive atmosphere fostered by certain authorities that has encouraged such offenses and others like it.

We strongly condemn this heinous crime that constitutes an affront to religion, an insult to the station of divine guardianship, and a desecration of the sanctity of the Imams (peace be upon them). We also salute the heroic prisoners who rose in righteous anger for the sake of God and in defense of His chosen ones.

We demand that those responsible for this grave transgression—and those behind them—be brought to justice, and that their trial be held publicly before society so that they may receive their due punishment.
