Bahrain Prisoners: Decision to Suspend Hunger Strike After Public Prosecution’s Commitment
The political detainees in Jaw Prison, Building 12, have announced the suspension of their hunger strike after nearly 23 days, following the Public Prosecution’s pledge to convey their message to senior officials.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, the detainees said that after the Public Prosecution committed to delivering the message of the striking prisoners to senior authorities, the message was indeed sent. It included their legitimate demand for unconditional release, rejecting any delay or restriction, and they are now awaiting the outcome of this step.
They further noted their decision to suspend the hunger strike, while continuing media and on-ground activities as part of the “Our Right is Firm” campaign.
It is worth mentioning that the political prisoners in Jaw Central Prison had announced on Monday, October 6, 2025, the launch of the “Our Right is Firm” initiative — a progressive and escalating series of actions that would intensify if met with no response from the concerned authorities. This escalation culminated on October 14, 2025, with the beginning of their hunger strike.
