The Media Center of the February 14 Coalition condemns the assassination of Al Jazeera’s press crew in Gaza
The Media Center of the February 14 Coalition issued a statement condemning the assassination of Al Jazeera’s press crew in Gaza. The statement reads:
The terrorist Zionist enemy does not stop at committing the crimes of genocide and inhumane starvation as part of a systematic war it has been waging for 22 months against the Gaza Strip, backed by the “Great Satan” — the United States — and supported by a shameful and suspicious Arab and international silence.
Time and again, this enemy has proven that when it fails to overcome the resistance and the steadfastness of civilians, it resorts to the vilest of crimes — the assassination of journalists and media professionals — in order to silence their free voices and prevent them from exposing its scandals.
And today, it has gone ahead with the assassination of the media crew of Al Jazeera, who were conveying the harsh realities of Gaza with professionalism and objectivity, driven by a human duty before a national one. They lived through what the people of Gaza endured — displacement, killing, and starvation — and defended them with their free words and courageous stance until they attained a blessed ending.
This attack, which comes as part of the ongoing series of crimes committed by the Zionist enemy against media professionals and institutions, reflects its weakness in the face of free speech and principled positions, its inability to withstand truth and transparency, and its attempt to muzzle the voices that expose its crimes and blatant aggressions against free and resisting peoples.
We, at the Media Center of the February 14 Youth Revolution Coalition, express our full solidarity with the free media community, especially those who convey Gaza’s suffering. We extend our condolences to Al Jazeera and to the families of the martyrs — journalist Anas Al-Sharif, journalist Mohammed Quraiqa, cameraman Ibrahim Zaher, cameraman Moamen Alaywa, Mohammed Noufal, and journalist Mohammed Al-Khaldi — who were assassinated by the Zionist entity. We affirm that all its desperate attempts to suppress the voices of Gaza’s steadfast people will fail, no matter how much it escalates its barbarism and brutality.
