Weekly Statement: Commending Grassroots Initiatives in Support of Gaza and Confronting the Project of Domination and Genocide… and a Call to Expand Them in All Arenas and Spaces
Issued by the Political Council of the February 14 Youth Revolution Coalition
In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
The Political Council of the February 14 Youth Revolution Coalition commends the steadfastness of the people of Bahrain in maintaining their unwavering stance in support of the people of Gaza and Palestine and their valiant resistance against the Zionist-American aggression. It stresses the importance of their recent mobilization in confronting the ongoing war of starvation and genocide in Gaza, given its significant impact in reinforcing the reliance on popular uprisings as a means to challenge the Zionist-American war, and in reaffirming the clear divide from the path of normalization and betrayal championed by Gulf and regional regimes.
The council believes that the flame of this uprising must remain alive and persistent, despite the disgraceful official positions and the complicity of the savage capitalist world with the genocidal Zionist entity and American arrogance. Indeed, the movements of the people are capable of altering unjust power dynamics and overturning equations of crime and colonialism, no matter how intense the oppression, repression, and terrorism in this world may be.
In this weekly position, we highlight the following key points in light of recent developments:
1. We express great pride in the free initiatives undertaken by our people in Bahrain in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Gaza, especially the protest held in front of the Zionist spy den and the American embassy in Manama. We affirm that these vital and spontaneous initiatives complement the broader popular path being carved by the solidarity movement with Gaza and Palestine—especially the near-daily popular protests held across various areas, where chants of “Death to Israel and America” are raised, and the weekly grassroots events organized by national forces that express the unity of the people—across all sects and affiliations—in confronting normalization, genocide, and American hegemony.
2. On a broader level, we emphasize the need to expand the scope of independent grassroots initiatives within the country. These are a fundamental element in strengthening popular choices both domestically and internationally, as they represent an accumulated vigor capable of sparking revolutions and comprehensive change. In this context, we urge everyone to embrace and encourage such initiatives, ensuring that they expand and spread across all arenas and spaces, becoming a renewed addition to the sincere national struggle. These efforts must be viewed as a natural outgrowth of a pained and oppressed people suffering under tyranny, deprivation, and foreign domination of national sovereignty. Undoubtedly, the opposition forces will remain present on national fronts and in all files and causes, never abandoning their oppressed people, and will do everything in their power to defend their rights and demands for freedom, justice, and the establishment of a genuine constitutional system.
3. We reiterate our rejection of any rapprochement or submissive reconciliation with the Khalifi regime in Bahrain. This regime continues to insist on pursuing a dangerous plan to eliminate all aspects of national independence, popular sovereignty, and authentic identity. It has not refrained from implementing any policy of destruction and corruption, doing so with boundless arrogance and complete disregard for religious values and moral standards. The promotion of the terrorist Interior Minister “Rashid Al Khalifa” as one of the key faces of this destructive project is a direct message affirming their choice of brutality and the eradication of the indigenous citizens’ identity. It is a declaration by the Khalifa clique of their persistence in erasing Bahrain’s rich history and transforming its heritage and spirit. A clear example of this is their celebration of the systematic destruction of the villages of “Askar” and “Jaw,” which began over two centuries ago and is still boasted about by the Khalifi occupiers as laying the foundations of their method of occupying land and people—based on cultural genocide, demolition of religious sites, forced displacement of residents, and resettlement of foreigners and mercenaries. This alone is sufficient grounds for total disavowal of these occupiers, confronting them day and night by all legitimate means, and considering them the enemies of the people and the greatest threat to its existence, faith, and the future of its generations.
4. Following the latest Zionist-American war on the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Khalifi regime’s alignment with the American-Zionist project has become even more evident, as has its readiness to engage in servitude and carry out despicable roles to entrench this project and forcibly implant it within the people. During the aggressive war on Iran, the Khalifis were clearly eager to weaken it, downplay its legitimate right to defend itself, and prevent the people from expressing solidarity with its courageous leadership—brutally suppressing those who tried to do so.
This comes as no surprise to our people, who have long believed in the Khalifi betrayal of the nation—an understanding that was further solidified after the signing of the normalization and betrayal agreement with the Zionist entity and the open submission to American domination. However, what is new is that the Khalifis have now become a forward base for global colonial and hegemonic powers, serving as the prime instrument for executing their ambitions and hostile plans—particularly against neighboring countries, especially Iran. The new agreements with the Americans and the British have cemented Bahrain’s servile role in the security and intelligence dimensions, particularly after the signing of the so-called “Comprehensive Prosperity Agreement” and the visit of the so-called “Crown Prince” Salman—the Zionist sympathizer—to Washington, where he squandered billions into the hands of the criminal Trump. This role took a new leap forward with the appointment of a new military attaché at the American embassy in Manama, signaling a looming security environment being prepared for a renewed confrontation with the fortress of resistance in Iran. This necessitates that our free people—and all free people—remain vigilant, prepare adequately, and gear up for this decisive battle against falsehood, in support of the front of truth, freedom, and resistance.
