Weekly Statement: “Ashura in Bahrain” Is Stronger Than Khalifi Terrorism and Will Never Succumb to the American-Zionist Project

In light of the grave escalation that has marked the commemoration of the Ashura season this year in Bahrain, the Political Council of the Coalition of February 14 Youth Revolution holds the criminal Khalifi entity fully responsible for the consequences and repercussions of its aggressive targeting of citizens’ religious beliefs and rituals. We affirm that such vile and blatant assaults on these beliefs and rituals will no longer be seen merely as reflections of an existential conflict between the occupying Khalifis and the indigenous citizens. Rather, they now clearly indicate that this conflict has reached its absolute peak—both in form and substance—rendering any conventional political negotiation with this criminal entity futile. It has solidified the people’s conviction that coexistence with such an occupier is utterly impossible, prompting those concerned with the destiny and identity of the nation to earnestly prepare for liberation from this abhorrent occupation by all legitimate means.
In addressing this critical matter, we hereby present the following key points in our weekly statement:
1. This time, the Khalifi regime chose to wage its battle against the Husayni rituals in accordance with the calculations of the American-Zionist project, particularly following the genocidal wars in Palestine and Lebanon, the ongoing schemes in Syria and Iraq, the continued aggression against Yemen, and the recent war on the Islamic Republic. At this pivotal juncture, the American-Zionist scheme has gained reckless momentum, deploying a comprehensive and destructive strategy that not only targets physical infrastructure but also seeks to dismantle the values and principles that the enemies deem as existential threats. This destructive plan has been in active execution since 2020, with the launch of normalization projects and the subsequent public Zionist infiltration, accompanied by efforts to undermine authentic identities that oppose such projects. They aim to impose a new identity—one that does not regard the Zionist entity as the true enemy of the Ummah—through distorted slogans of “coexistence,” interfaith dialogue, escape from “wars,” promotion of absolute luxury, and the coercion of societies to submit to the terms of savage capitalism.
2. Simultaneously, the Americans and their regional agents have launched dual operations targeting the cultural and religious foundations of the peoples. These operations involve inciting sectarian and ethnic discord, saturating public platforms with paid agents of sedition, and sowing doubt in the minds of people regarding their genuine and struggling religious authorities. Instead, they promote new discourses and forces specially crafted to serve the American-Zionist project. While some may have previously dismissed warnings about this destructive scheme as exaggerated conspiracy theories, the unfolding events in the region have proven that the plans of the Americans and Zionists are even more dangerous than what has surfaced. Their goal is a complete overturning of the Ummah’s values and concepts, making the American-Zionist Islam the new model that the region’s people are pushed to embrace, all while being drowned in conflicts and wars, stripped of the values of faith, resistance, and jihad, and having their minds and futures controlled by mercenary elites and occupation agents.
3. We firmly believe that what is occurring in Bahrain is an integral part of this destructive plan aligned with the American-Zionist project. It comes as no surprise that the Al Khalifa were selected as obedient instruments to carry out this scheme on our sacred land. They are occupiers, mercenaries, and enemies of everything related to the people of Bahrain and their authentic identity. Their escalated war this year against Ashura rituals and their distortion of its slogans and goals only reflects their full commitment to the assigned role of promoting “Zionized Islam”, shutting down platforms that reject normalization and oppose American-Zionist hegemony. Their escalation represents an open confrontation with the chants and expressions of the people, which reflect their principled stances in supporting resistance and refusing submission to global arrogance.
4. The people of Bahrain have taken a resolute stance in rejecting the hijacking of Ashura of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). They consider the misleading campaigns and threats issued by the “Minister of Terror,” Rashed Al Khalifa, as extensions of the Umayyad-Yazidi project, now manifested in the American-Zionist scheme, which has long targeted the rituals of Ashura and Husayni processions. These commemorations fortify the front of truth, fuel the revolution against injustice and tyranny, and link the free with the values of liberation from oppressors and criminals. We are confident that our people and free scholars will stand firm against any violation of the lofty values of Ashura, as these values are the pillar upon which the people’s identity and creed are built. There will be no tolerance or silence in this regard.
5. Our noble people’s insistence on chanting “Death to Israel” and “Death to America” is a practical embodiment of the slogan “Death to Yazid” and to the criminals who perpetrated the Karbala massacre. It is also a declaration of complete disassociation from those who represent tyranny and bloodshed in our time, regardless of their religion, sect, or ethnicity. Furthermore, the commitment of mourners in our Husayni processions to the slogans “Labbayka Ya Khamenei,” “Labbayka Ya Nasrallah,” and “Labbayka Ya Isa Qassim” is a living extension of the cry “Labbayka Ya Hussein.” Similarly, our people’s response to the call of Imam Hussein, “Far from us is disgrace,” is their refusal to accept any oppressive or aggressive project that undermines the values of religion and humiliates the dignity of the Ummah. They believe that martyrdom in defense of those values is the Karbala’i choice, which never pledges allegiance to tyrants and distorters. It makes sacrifice a beacon that lights the path of the free across all times and places and proclaims the divine promise that blood which rises for truth and justice shall triumph over the swords of oppressors, no matter how long the darkness endures.
