The Political Council of the February 14 Revolution Youth Coalition issued
the Weekly Position, which reads as follows:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
On the eve of Labor Day, May 1st, workers and householders among our
people in Bahrain continue to feel the weight of the deepening black
nightmare that looms over them—especially university graduates and
holders of advanced degrees, who have been condemned by the policies
of corruption and tyranny to be deprived of their natural right to decent
employment and advancement to suitable positions.
This day, which has long stood as a milestone of national struggle in the
history of our people, calls for deep reflection on the bitter state to which
our beloved country has been reduced—a consequence of a handful of
corrupt criminals from the Khalifi entity seizing control and monopolizing the
state’s administration, turning it into a playground for plunder, abuse, and
the inheritance of top positions by members of their tribe and their
mercenaries. It was never expected that in a small country with limited
population and resources, its people would be scorched by the fires of
unemployment, poverty, and the loss of hope for a dignified future—were it
not for the Al Khalifa’s relentless exploitation since their occupation of the
country: draining public budgets, stealing every inch of land and every sum
of money they could lay hands on, and seizing vital companies and
institutions without oversight or accountability. The Al Khalifa have
amassed vast wealth from the pockets of the people and the nation’s
resources, impoverished the population, and forced them to endure a bitter
existence in their own homeland—all to satisfy their depraved instincts,
inherited from an era of conquest and spoils.
In light of this reality, we affirm in the weekly position the following points:
1- The tyrant Hamad bears direct responsibility for the grave economic
and livelihood crises that are threatening the nation and its citizens.
What threatens this usurped homeland is the result of a quarter-
century of the dark reign of this criminal tyrant, and the corruption of
his sons and his entourage, including his son, the Prime Minister
Salman, who followed the path of his corrupt tribe in committing
crimes against the nation’s most valuable resources—its loyal
workers and the educated generation of the country’s sons who
studied and earned the highest degrees, defying the pervasive
corruption around them. They remain steadfast in their inherent right
to dignified work and a proper place in the management of their
homeland. However, the tyrant and his corrupt sons are displeased
with this, as they harbor hatred toward the youth of the nation,
suffering from inferiority complexes and a lack of talent and
knowledge. Their high positions are inherited and maintained through
iron-fisted control, not based on merit or competence. This is the first
truth that must be laid on the table to understand the causes of the
nation’s crises—unemployment, corruption, poverty, and bankruptcy.
2- The government of the corrupt Salman has failed to manage the
public debt, which is expected to rise to 136% of GDP this year,
revealing the emptiness of all the financial reforms announced during
the policies of his illegitimate government and its economic decisions.
This is particularly evident with the blatant failure to manage the
repayment plans for both the principal and the interest of the public
debt, which has caused it to lose credibility with major global rating
agencies. Following the reassessment by Fitch and Standard &
Poor’s Global, which shifted their outlook from “Stable” to “Negative,”
this indicates that investing in a country that is financially and
politically unstable has become even riskier than before. As a result,
foreign investments are expected to flee Bahrain, causing a
significant decline in the value of the local currency. This explains the
government’s shift towards privatizing essential service sectors, such
as electricity and water, which will lead to an astronomical rise in
prices, thus increasing the burden on citizens.
3- In addition, the absolute dependency of the Khalifi entity on foreign
projects has forced the country to comply with the conditions set by
multinational corporations and the ruthless capitalist agendas they
impose on nations worldwide. The financial corruption, the decline in
living conditions, and the catastrophic failure of economic policies
should not be separated from the policy of dependency to which this
entity submits, aligning itself with hegemonic powers in the region
and the world, all at the expense of the nation’s and citizens’
interests, compromising their security, stability, and economic and
social welfare. This criminal entity, in its attempts to please the
Americans and Western colonial powers, and in its embrace of
Zionism while pursuing its aggressive plans, chooses to immerse the
nation and its citizens in tension and in the successive malicious
American decisions, all for the sake of securing a handful of money,
safeguarding the tribe’s interests, and maintaining absolute control
over the people. Consequently, liberating the nation from this
dependency and servitude, and restoring full sovereignty by
establishing a true constitutional state, is the most effective and
lasting path to rescue the country and its people from poverty,
unemployment, deprivation, discrimination in employment, theft, and
corruption.
4- The entity that opposes the loyal worker and the honest, educated
youth, imposes a systematic policy of impoverishment and
deprivation on the people, and opens doors to investment and
positions for its foreign counterparts, invaders, and mercenaries, will
not find it strange to reject democratic rule and the will of the people.
It was no surprise that it continued its police-state tactics of terrorizing
the people and opponents, preventing them from raising their voices
for the legitimate rights to establish a constitutional government. This
was evident in the recent targeting of activists and the families of
martyrs and prisoners, who were summoned and threatened because
of their solidarity activities and loyalty to the martyrs’ memory. The
inclusion of visits to the majlis (meeting place) of His Eminence
“Sheikh Ali Salman” among the banned activities is irrefutable proof
that the tyrant Hamad still trembles in fear of this people. He knows
that beneath the ashes, a tremendous anger is rising and will
eventually explode. When that day comes, neither his mercenaries,
nor his teenage sons’ medals, nor normalization with the Zionists, nor
submission to the American devil, nor public relations funds and the
buying of loyalty, will protect him. The pit is widening for the tyrants
and occupiers, and their fall and disgrace will be deafening. The
conclusion, by God’s will, will be in favor of the February 14
Revolution and the victory of our honorable and free people in
Bahrain.
