The Political Council of the February 14 Revolution Youth
Coalition issued the weekly position, which reads as follows:
In the name of Allah, the most Gracious the most Merciful
With the arrival of the sacred month of Muharram and the
anniversary of Ashura of Imam Hussein ibn Ali (peace be upon
them), we extend our sincere condolences to the entire Islamic
nation, especially to the grand religious scholars and the
Guardian of the Muslims, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei
(may his honorable shadow remain). We particularly extend our
condolences and sympathy to our noble people in Bahrain and
their scholarly messengers of divine guidance, foremost among
them the leading jurist, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim (may Allah
protect him).
In this context, we affirm our commitment to the guidelines
provided by the senior scholars of Bahrain and the directives of
the Chairman of the Shura Council in the February 14 Coalition
regarding this year’s Ashura commemoration under the slogan
‘’With Hussein Forever’’. We emphasize the importance of a
strong popular presence at the commemorations throughout all
regions of the country, especially in the capital, Manama.
Additionally, it is essential to uphold the high Husayni values that
represent the essence of this great anniversary and the message
of the pure blood that has been shed on the land of Karbala.
In this regard, we address the following points:
1- We condemn all practices and policies implemented by
regimes and governments to hinder the commemoration of
Ashura. We express our astonishment at the unwise
measures taken by the Kuwaiti government to restrict
Ashura observances. Additionally, we fear that the Khalifi
regime will exploit these measures to further its efforts to
combat Ashura rituals and persecute those participating in
processions and at Huseiniyas. This is particularly
concerning given its ongoing malicious plan to seize control
of the Ashura season and strip it of its core values of fighting
oppression and confronting injustice and deviation. This is
part of a broader assault on our people’s identity and
religious authenticity.
2- We emphasize the need to leverage the Ashura
commemoration for the major causes of the Ummah,
foremost among them the cause of Al-Quds, the liberation of
Palestine, and the support for the resistance in Gaza and
other noble axis of support. The people of Bahrain have
demonstrated their commitment to this cause and their
steadfastness in all arenas without fatigue, providing a
model of support and solidarity despite the harsh conditions
imposed by the normalized khalifi regime. In this regard, we
commend the stance of ‘’Bahraini Society for Resisting
Normalization’’ in their recent sit-in in Manama, which
affirmed that boycotting represents a popular support front
for the valiant resistance, something we call to be upheld
during this great season.
3- We affirm the right of political prisoners to perform religious
rituals and express our full solidarity with the prisoners
sentenced to death in their strike. We call upon our loyal
people to remember their plight and resilience during the
Ashura commemorations to support them in every possible
way. The fundamental right remains the immediate and
unconditional release of all prisoners and hostage leaders.
The Khalifi regime’s continued manipulation of this issue will
be futile, and all its false propaganda and attempts to delay
and break the will of the free prisoners will ultimately fail.
4- We express our dismay at the remarks made by the tyrant
Hamad during his chairing of the Khalifi government meeting
on Monday, July 8th. He repeated the usual lies about the
success of the Ashura season and his claim about
citizenship and preserving the historical and cultural identity
of Bahrain in the cities of Muharraq and Manama. We affirm
that this tyrant has, for decades, tampered with the country’s
identity and overseen programs and projects aimed at
erasing the authentic history of our people and imposing the
narrative of the Khalifi invasion. We view the so-called ‘’Plan
for Developing the Historical Area of the Manama Souq’’ as
yet another chapter in the ongoing destruction of Bahrain’s
urban and demographic identity and its indigenous people.
5- We highlight the dangers of participating in the programs
and activities organized and sponsored by the Khalifi regime
during the summer vacation. We urge our honorable people
to boycott these activities and not allow their children to
participate in or join them in any form, especially the so
called ‘’Summer Camp of the Royal Police Academy’’, which
we view as another attempt by the regime to infiltrate our
faithful community on security, intellectual, and behavioral
levels. We point out that such dubious activities are intended
to break the popular isolation surrounding the Khalifi regime
and to infiltrate the opposition environment, flooding it with
toxic cultures based on loyalty to the tyrant and acceptance
of the tribal system and servitude.
6- We reiterate the warning against the covert schemes being
prepared by the American-Zionist alliance started from
Bahrain. We view with increased suspicion the growing
communications and visits between the Khalifi government
and Khalifi army on one side, and American officials,
especially the US Defense Secretary and the American
ambassador, on the other.
We view these relations as part of the nefarious alliance against
the resistance and its noble axis, as well as a malicious attempt to
undermine our dear people and the free peoples of the region.
This is especially concerning with the arrival of the Ashura
commemorate of Imam Hussein ibn Ali (peace be upon him),
where American imperialist intervention on agent regimes,
pushing them towards exerting more political pressure on the
people and their living forces. This has been reflected in the
renewed Khalifi behavior of restricting Ashura rituals and
preventing reciters and preachers from travelling abroad to
participate in the commemoration.
