The opposition forces in Bahrain strongly denounced the assault on the figure of ‘’His Eminence Sheikh Mohammed Sanqour’’ and his detention, demanding his release without any delay with the rehabilitation of His Eminence for this daring.
The opposition forces in Bahrain ‘’Al-Wefaq National Islamic, the Bahrain Islamic Freedom Movement, the Islamic Wafa Movement, the Islamic Action Society, the February 14 Revolution Youth Coalition, and the Freedom and Democracy Movement (HAQ)’’, confirmed in a joint statement on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, that the arresting of the most important Friday sermon orator in Bahrain by the Khalifi regime, for reasons related to discussing Zionists, reflects the great fall of the arrogant regime, which is an absolute proof that this regime continues to erode.
It considered that the regime violated the most basic rules, values and limits by targeting Shiite religious scholars, going beyond the most basic norms of coexistence and respect, and attempting to use all State institutions in favour of retaliation policies based on foundations far from the law and system.
The forces added in the statement that the history of this regime is riddled with sectarian practices and excesses on religious and social components, political existence, scholars, figures, mosques and values, and no longer sees in the country other than its rule, believing that its existence is sacred, protected and untouchable and it continues without restraint, which gives the people the right to demand the rejection of this enslavement, denigration and marginalization, emphasizing that this authoritarian approach has pushed the regime towards more corruption ,robbery, normalization, starvation, discrimination and naturalization, and this list is infinitely long, which is the products of dictatorship and repressive regimes, according to the statement.
