The Political Council of the February 14 Revolution Youth Coalition issued a statement on the 32nd Arab Summit held in Jeddah, which reads as follows:
In the Name of Allah, the most Merciful
In the light of the continuous developments in the region, the 32nd Arab Summit was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The Political Council of the February 14 Revolution Youth Coalition followed the surrounding situations and its final statement, and pointed out the following points:
1- A decade ago, most governments participating in the Arab Summit took an American decision to freeze Syria’s membership – the main founders of the Arab League – under the cover of supporting the protests witnessed by Syria at the time. These governments – led by the government of Al Khalifa – have also worked on violent incitement to overthrow the Syrian state. However, due to the steadfastness of the resistance axis, this destructive plan was defeated; forcing Arab governments to change their positions, and the Syrian state restored its natural position at the heart of the Arab World. Therefore, we emphasize the importance of taking the lesson from this harsh experience and evaluating attitudes towards current changes on this basis, and not being drawn into the new policies of the Gulf regimes, especially those that were at the core of the plan of destruction and terrorism whose effects remain to this day.
2- In the same political and time stream, since 2011, successive Arab Summits have contributed to enshrining the dictatorial rule in Bahrain and providing all forms of support and cover for the policies of killing, repression and tyranny adopted by the tyrant (Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa) in the face of the public protests witnessed by the country. At this stage, the official Arab position provides a shining example of the government’s dependence on foreign will, which is completely contradictory to the interests of the people and their desire for freedom and justice. The Bahrain revolution was truly the moral standard that exposed this contradiction and official Arab hypocrisy, and the resilience of this revolution made a significant contribution to the deconstruction projects that devastated the region and its people.
3- The Arab Summit did not stop its completely disregarding of the demands of the Bahraini people, which are confirmed by the 2011 revolution and still do. The most important of these is the demand for political rights and the formulation of a constitution for the country based on the free will and self-determination of the people. This disregard has caused double injustice to the people of Bahrain and its revolution. If Arab leaders had wisdom and courage, many of the pain and suffering suffered by the country and its people could have been avoided, but most of those leaders were hostages living under the dictates of the petrodollar sheikhs, and were partners of American-Zionism project in spreading terrorism, fuelling counter-revolutions and civil wars in the region. Due to the fact that Arab entities and their summits still turn a blind eye to the demands of the Bahraini people, any change in these government policies is not a declaration of repentance or a shift towards people’s choices, but rather a temporary strategy that requires caution and careful, with an expanding efforts to extract legitimate rights.
4- The 32nd Summit failed to convince the Arab people that allowing peoples to participate in building their homelands, safeguarding their sovereignty and independence is true hope, and the final statement of the Summit has repeated clichés and double standards, including the phrase of no external interference in Arab internal affairs, which contradict the governments’ policies of confronting the popular movements. The most prominent example is the Saudi-Gulf military (Peninsula Shield Force) intervention in Bahrain, and the oppression of the popular movement in 2011. Similarly, the Arab Summit Declaration involves respecting the values and culture of others, which is a misleading propaganda aimed at concealing the participation of Gulf entities in Bahrain’s existence and identity war projects with Saudi support, in order to undermine the culture and inherent values of the people of Bahrain, including the demolition of mosques, the destruction of shrines and religious monuments, the enactment of legislation to obliterate the country’s historical memory and the destruction of its natural demographics.
In conclusion, we emphasize that it is inappropriate for a regime that betrays the Palestinian cause and normalizes with the Zionist entity to host the next Arab Summit (2024). We call on the free people of the Arab world to express their opposition to this hosting, as it devotes normalization projects and gives the authoritarian settlement Zionist rule in the Gulf region a political cover. So, we warn in the February 14 Revolution Youth Coalition of the public or non-public participation of Zionist in the next summit in collusion with the al-Khalifi regime, and we stress our firm stance in the legal and legitimate right to resist the Zionist existence in Bahrain and Palestine in every possible way.
