The Political Council of the February 14 Revolution Youth Coalition issued a statement condemning the decision of the Al-Khalifa regime to rename Bahrain’s cities and towns, which reads as follows:
In the Name of Allah, the most Merciful
We, in the Political Council of the February 14 Revolution Youth coalition direct our strong warning against the announcement of the Prime Minister of the Khalifa entity, Salman Bin Hamad, who announced the renaming of Bahrain’s cities, areas, squares and streets.
We believe that this project comes as part of successive steps taken by the invading al-Khalifa tribe to expand the occupational engineering scopes of Bahrain, which has continued since its invasion of Bahrain in 1783, and which depends on the demographic and architectural re-engineering of the authentic society, in order to enhance the actions of control and absolute domination over the country and its people, similar to the ongoing Zionist plan for occupied Palestine, which is the pinnacle of the world’s settlement occupation projects with its extreme destructive policies at the ground and identity levels, which explains – once again – the deep conjunction between the occupying Zionists and the invading al-Khalifa.
In this context, in the February 14 Revolution Youth Coalition we recall the following:
- Since the Khalifi invasion of Bahrain, Al Khalifa has adopted a policy that distorted the country’s identity in terms of culture, religion, and demographic, in order to violently conquering indigenous peoples, seizing the vast agricultural areas of citizens, and owning more land, obtaining wealth through illegal means with the help of the mercenary ‘’Fidawis’’ forces.
- Al-Khalifa also inherited power and looting the wealth, they also inherited policies that destroy Bahrain’s cultural identity and sabotage its population, by forced displacement, cultural genocide, mass deportations village evacuations, and accordingly, the systematic practice to obliterate the identity of these native villages and to conceal everything connected with the authenticity of the Bahraini people or forging it.
- In the late modern times, al-Khalifa used new tools to implement this racist and abolitionist policy, under the rule of former Khalifa ruler ‘’Isa Bin Salman’’, in synergy with his brothers ‘’Khalifa and Muhammad’’, the country was heavily flowed with huge numbers of foreigners who benefit from foreign labour, this coincided with accelerating the development of housing projects, which are based on stealing public lands, indiscriminately burying beaches, damaging the country’s urban environment, and replacing the assimilation of new population and others. This has led to a real shake in the population and architectural structure of the country, which researchers have described as a step forward in the indigenous people’s ‘‘uprooting’’ project.
- As for the current ruler ‘’Dictator Hamad Bin Isa’’, the most dangerous and biggest destructive steps in the settlement, uprooting, and identity eradication projects were activated, causing another stage of Bahrain’s demographic absurdity by naturalizing hundreds of thousands of foreigners and mercenaries resulting in settlement outposts scattered throughout the country’s regions and villages, and turning into sectarian, political and security levers in the hands of Al-Khalifa by spreading sectarian disputes, destroying historical mosques, and manipulating the results of the elections, as well as its extremely dangerous negative impact on the social identity and authentic culture of the people.
- The full normalization with the Zionist entity was the culmination of the Khalifi project in the settlement occupation of Bahrain, and not only opened the doors for the arrival and incursion of Zionists into society, but also they have become partners with Al-Khalifa to steal land, houses and historical neighbourhoods, hijacking the authentic identity of areas and cities, which is feared to eventually result in a full-fledged nakba in Bahrain similar to the Palestinian Nakba in 1948.
- The head of the authoritarian al-Khalifa government (Salman), taking up an important and dangerous role in the implementation of identity destruction policies, the eradication of the inherent existence of population and urbanization, and the extension of normalization stages with Zionists, rather that his latest project to rename the cities, villages and streets of Bahrain is only the completion of the settlement project and the uprooting of place and identity, which foreshadowing the upcoming black phase of the country.
In the Political Council of the February 14 Revolution Youth Coalition, we call on the people of Bahrain – Shiites and Sunnis – to take a serious stand against these dangers that surrounded all of us, and to take the historical responsibility in the face of this dangerous destructive project, with the assurance that what is happening in Bahrain is inseparable from the American-Zionist political track and its goals to destroy and sabotage the identity of people, and remove them from history and culture, which the occupiers and the invaders consider that history and culture are the main tributaries that strengthen these people and provide them with resistive force.
