176 political detainees in building number.9 of Jaw Central Prison wrote a second letter to the al-Khalifi regime, demanding for humanitarian situation in the prison and stopping what they are subjected to, due to the poor conditions, the difficult and the inhuman situation inside the prisons, a day after submitting a letter from the prisoners in building number.10, which increase the number of claimants to 338 political detainees.
The detainees stressed on finding solutions to the escalating problems suffered by detainees that are integrated and sustainable solutions, enabling them to access their right, pointing out that these problems had been submitted in advance but the right solutions had not sought increasing the gap between them and the prison administration.
They called for the annulment of punitive security isolation that does not comply with the standards of prisoners’ rights in realizing their dignified life and harming them materially and psychologically and allowing them to hold congregational prayers at the prayer zone, and modifying the current solar system, which is in fact too narrow and limited to meet prisoners’ health and human needs and modify the current visiting system by allowing the prisoner to meet with his parents for two hours per month instead of the current half-hour per month, as well as allowing second-degree relatives to meet with detainees; in addition, to increasing the number of persons allowed to enter from 4 to 6 persons.
The political detainees also called to appropriate and adequate medical care that offers them the treatment and medication needed. They emphasized that they have the right to communicate with their relatives and families demanding a reduction in the cost of communication as well as increase the number of minutes.
