The director of the political office of the February 14 Revolution Youth Coalition in Beirut, “Dr. Ibrahim Al-Aradi “said that the cabinet reshuffle in Bahrain is not subject to any democratic norm.
In an interview with Al-Mayadeen Channel on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, he explained that the Ministerial appointments are issued according to the mood of the ruling family and the extent to which (appointed ministers) support normalization with Israel.
The Al-Khalifah regime had reshuffled the cabinet for the first time since 20 years, in an attempt to burnish his image before the world after a series of pressure from international and human rights organizations that consider its practices lack legal and humanitarian legitimacy, and characterized by regional and sectarian racism, as well as an enormous limitation on freedom of expression and political freedoms, especially against political prisoners, as the amendment reduced the number of Prime Minister’s deputies from 4 to 1 with a ministerial portfolio assigned to him, in addition to the departure of 11 persons from the new composition, including 3 Prime Minister’s deputies, and there were no changes to Sovereign ministries such as Ministry of: Foreign Affairs, Internal Affairs, Defense and Finance, in addition to the Ministries of Education and Labor, and also the creation of four new portfolios which are: “Infrastructure”, “Legal Affairs”, “Sustainable Development” and ‘Tourism”.
