The arrest did not end the political detainees’ battle with the Al-Khalifah regime, which didn’t hesitate to take revenge on them in the most hideous ways, perhaps the most criminal one is leaving them exposed to disease and depriving them of treatment with the poor living conditions in prisons which aren’t originally at their lowest levels.
The political detainees have lived for more than two years in a difficult humanitarian situation due to the outbreak of Coronavirus among them leading to the martyrdom of the detainee “Hussein Barakat”, which is for today still spreading, as human rights organizations confirmed that in these days it is spreading in Dry Dock Prison among young detainees, where many injuries have been recorded.
These detainees are in grave danger which is the spreading of the Tuberculosis among them, with the regime’s concealing of the truth, the disempowering for patients to receive the necessary treatment, or taking the necessary preemptive action, and what reveals this intransigence is the daily movement of the detainees’ families, as mothers, fathers, children and relatives protest on the public streets in many regions and towns, raising their sons’ pictures and calling unconditionally for their freedom.
The people continues to show their solidarity with the detainees and to support their families, as social media is full with positions calling for the release of these detainees, which exposes the regime’s crimes against them, while “#SaveBahrainiPrisoners”
hashtag often leads the trend in tweets. It should also be noted the launch of activities titled “Friday of rescuing the prisoners” in order to pressure for their rescue and to ensure their legitimate right to life.
