The statement issued by a number of MPs in the artificial Al-Khalifa Parliament, and the demands to postpone the return of the Bahrainis from the “endemic countries” while providing housing and aid to them and following their treatment in those countries, have received widespread condemnation and strong resentment.
Senior Bahraini scholars, including , Sayed Abdullah Al-Ghuraifi, Sheikh Muhammad Salih Al-Rubaie, and Sheikh Muhammad Sanqour,” considered that it is a legitimate and human duty to express deep resentment and strong denial of the voices that are pushing towards disrupting the issue Bahrain citizens who are stuck in Iran and in other countries, considering these calls are contradicting the true religion and human values. The citizen has the right to care and protection, indeed, this legal and human right grows in cases where the citizen is stranded, which applies to citizens who are stranded for about a month in Iran, according to their statement today, Thursday, 12 March 2020.
The Gulf Institute for Democracy and Human Rights affirmed that Bahrain had failed to evacuate its citizens stranded in Iran, condemning this statement, which reinforces sectarian discrimination, and creates discord among the people of the same country.
Meanwhile, a number of MPs expressed their strong dissatisfaction for putting their names in this statement, which they did not see, and not agree on its details – in their words, stressing the return of those stranded abroad.
A number of MPs were issued a statement on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, demanding the regime to postpone the return of the Bahrainis from the “endemic countries”, while providing housing, aid to them and continuing their treatment in those countries, under the pretext that their return “will increase the number of infection with the virus rapidly, which leads to take extra precautionary measures from other countries, preventing the entry of Bahrainis to its territory, as the Kingdom registers the highest cases of Covid -19 infection in the Arab countries,” according to what they put.
It is worth noting that on Wednesday 11 March 2020, the regime decided to postpone the return of Bahraini citizens stranded in Iran after the outbreak of Corona virus indefinitely, due to the frustration in facing this crisis and its inability to contain it, at a time when other countries are harnessed all its potential for the sake of its citizens.
A plane that belonging to the Omani Peace Airlines was landed on Tuesday, 10 March 2020 at Bahrain International Airport, carrying 160 citizens from Bahrain stranded in Iran after the outbreak of the “Corona” virus, and the death of a third citizen, after the authorities failed to secure their return to the country, and the absence of the national carrier “Gulf Air ”.
Earlier, the February 14 Revolution Youth Coalition had stated that the unjust decisions taken by the regime, the deliberate slowdown in evacuating citizens stranded abroad, especially in Iran, on a sectarian background, and the so-called “artificial” Parliament’s decision to keep citizens there until their recovery reflects the meanness and inhumanity of this regime, which handles citizens with ambivalence and hateful sectarian manner.
