The prisoners in Joe prison , who suffer from skin allergies and scabies, demanded an immediate treatment , stressing that this is their right, denouncing the deliberate negligence by the prison administration.
Hussein al-Haddad, one of the prisoners, said in an audio recording that he is one of the patients with scabies, adding that the situation inside the prison is pathetic.
” We received many promises of treatment from the officers, but they did not achieved, and the sick detainees are exhausted due to the lack of sleep”, he said, conveying the demands of the prisoners to sterilize the building from germs, replace personal items and provide them with adequate treatment.
The prisoner of conscience sentenced to life “Aymin Naji” appealed to the concerned authorities as saying ” We, in the Central Prison of Joe, building 12, are infected with skin allergies that our bodies have been disfigured by this disease, while the prison administration continues to procrastinate” . He mentioned that six months ago the scabies spread widely in the prison buildings, and the detainees complained about the inability to get proper treatment, pointing out that the prison administration had isolated some of the prisoners without treatment , which causes the spread of the disease, demanding the provision of appropriate treatment by a specialized doctor and personal health tools for each prisoner.
