The family of detained man “Hussein Zaif” demanded to save his life and provide him with treatment , as he suffering from tuberculosis and still held in the hospital.
His mother said he had tuberculosis disease that he never had before entering the prison. He finally transferred to the hospital of Salmaniya, because there were symptoms of a rapid decline of weight and continuous cough associated with bleeding. Tests showed that he is infected with pulmonary tuberculosis .
She explained that the hospital administration held him in quarantine, demanding to disclose his destiny and let her to reassure him, and not taking him back to the prison, which is the core of the epidemic.
It is noteworthy that Hussein Zaif- 28 years, had been convicted on political grounds and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
On the other hand, human right activists warned that Hussein may die, if he doesn’t get an appropriate treatment.
Hussein had underwent a complicated surgery for his cornea before his arrest. After he was arrested on 15, September 2017, he prevented from seeing the doctor, and since nearly a year of pain and neglect, he presented to the doctor, and provided with necessary medicines.
But the prison administration told his family that medicines are not available and they have to bring them by themselves. When they tried to deliver the medicines, they were subjected to several difficulties and harassment. He also had a high rise of sugar, although he was intact before his arrest.
On December 21 , 2019,the prison’ s clinic injected Hussein with “insulin “, without medical advice, and he had to take it because of his repeated suffering, where he suffered a temporary loss of sight several times.
