The prisoner of opinion Mohammed Ibrahim al- Mullah has took off his teeth by himself, after his health was badly deteriorated as a result of the intransigence of Al-Khalifa regime to depriving him of treatment.
Human rights activists have quoted Mohammed’s mother in an audio recording as saying that her son was desperate and took off his teeth, which caused a gum bleeding, pointing out that the prison administration had overlooked Mohammed’s health and never referred him to a specialized doctor despite the promises.
She added that she repeatedly filled complaints to the prison administration about his teeth aches , but in vain , calling on human rights organization to intervene and save Mohammed and other prisoners who lack the appropriate health care.
It is noteworthy that Mohammed was sentenced to 10 years in prison on political charge and he served around 6 years until now, which means half of his term in prison, and he should be included by the so-called “alternative penalties law” . The regime had resorted to that law to cover up its abuses against prisoners, as it included criminals, foreigners, and very few politicians.
