Families of a number of patient-prisoners have revealed that the regime is still detaining them and did not release them in compliance with the so-called “alternative penalty law”, noting that most of them have spent half of the sentence in prison, and they should be included by this law.
The family of the cancer patient “Elias Al-Mulla” explained that Al-Mulla spent half of his sentence in prison, as he sentenced to 15 years in prions for political accusation, and he served 7 years and 7 months until now.
The family of the multiple sclerosis patient “Mohammed Faraj”, urged an immediate release, as he served 5 years out of 7 years in prison on malicious charges.
It is noteworthy that Al-Khalifa regime had resorted to the “alternative penalty law” in an attempt to launder its black record of human rights, especially the rights of sick prisoners that were highlighted by human rights organizations.
In this regard, the family of the prisoner of conscience “Ibrahim Ali Akbar” has demanded to provide medical care for him, as his hand was broken since almost a week ago. He did not get any treatment, despite he was taken the prison’s clinic, which transferred him to Salmaniya hospital for orthopedic, but the prison administration refuses to transfer him deliberately.
The family of the prisoner “Ali Hussein Ali Habeeb” mentioned that he suffers from severe sickle cells disease and other conditions. He had acute blisters in his body and mouth, a severe pain in the ear, hearing impairment, and vision impairment . While he is still not receiving any type of treatment since almost a year, his family held Al-Khalifa regime the accountability for these violations and the prohibition of medical care for their son and other prisoners.
