Al-Khalifa regime is still believing the lie of the Penal Code, that applied on hundreds of criminals and excluded thousands of political prisoners, as it released only 80 prisoners who are almost served their imprisonment.
The prisoner of conscience Ahmed Mahfouz, who has been included by this decision, said that he was about to be released in two months and one week only, before he was included by the decision.
Meanwhile, the Attorney General Ali bin Fadl Buainain had announced, after Bahrain won the Gulf Cup Championship, that all the young age detainees – about 80 were released, through the expansion of the alternative Penal Code, under a direct supervision of Hamad Isa Al-Khalifa, according to him.
This decision comes at a time when the prisons of the regime are crowded with thousands of political prisoners including children, in addition to six female prisoners that have not been included by the decision, despite their families’ demands. The Bahrain Center for Human Rights confirmed this, pointing out that many political prisoners, who accused of freedom of expression charges, were not included by this decision.
“Al-Khalifa regime rejected dozens of requests made by the families of the prisoners or their agents to replace judgments issued against them on political bases”, it added .
