Detainees in Joe Central Prison, who have infected with skin diseases, continue to launched their cries for allowing them the right to treatment, protecting them from the deliberate medical negligence inside the prison, and to provide health care.
Voice messages by detainees infected with allergies, especially scabies, were continued to arrive on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, as they reached to 10 messages. They reported that sick prisoners do not benefit from the clinic, and they cannot sleep, as they have been suffering from scabies since more than 5 months. They are not allowed to go out under the sun for an hour and they don’t have enough time to contact their families, exercising, spreading clothing, drying their clothes, and have to complete drying in the cell, in addition to the absence of a specialist dermatologist in prison.
The clinic does not provide a proper medication, but only gives them “Lotion”, and when the case exaggerates , they start screaming but without response, so they cover the camera of the cell and bring up the duty officer, who transfers the sick-prisoner to solitary confinement because of this action.
The detainees condemned these inhumane treatment and intimidation by the prison administration, stressing that the doctor is a partner in this crime, as he punishes each one dares to do so.
They stressed the need to provide the effective treatment and working to improve prison conditions that helped the spread of the disease.
