During the month of November, authorities have detained and summoned many people, as the number of detainees reached about 40 persons, in addition to a big number of citizens who were summoned to the criminal investigation offices.
Human Rights activist, Ibtisam Al-Saigh, clarified that the security campaign is continuing, and it expanded into different kinds. The campaign included breaking into the houses at night and dawn, where the homes and the targeted regions’ outlets are enclosed, and then stormed. The arrested people during these raids get a few seconds phone calls, without giving any information about where they are going to be taken and they have not right to have a lawyer.
The second procedure is the use of electronic technology, which has been absent from many services and has grown in the security field, where a text message is delivered with a summoning note , without reason or the possibility of sending a lawyer.
She said that one of the citizens released after ending his 5-year sentence had received a letter to appear for the investigation, and that the summons involved a new charge of assembly, and when the indictment was denied, the investigator suggested that he work with them, and when he refused, he was forced to sign a pledge of attendance on request.
