On Wednesday morning, August 21, 2019, bands of mercenary of al-Khalifa regime broke into the wards inside Dry Dock Prison and brutally attacked detainees on hunger strike in an attempt to force them to end their strike.
The families of the detainees in Dry Dock and Joe prisons expressed their deep concern for the fate and safety of their children, especially after knowing that they are subjected to oppression, denial of visit, disconnection, beatings and assaults by the mercenaries in order to discourage them from continuing the hunger strike. They urged the authorities to handle this issue peacefully, so that the strike does not continue or recur in the future.
