According to human rights sources, the prison administration of Joe is still procrastinating in treating the patient prisoner of opinion, who has cancer, Elias Mulla.
In addition to his illness, al-Mulla is suffering from a fracture of the arm and wrist. He was underwent a surgery without periodic follow-up which made him vulnerable to handicap, according to his mother. He suffered a double fracture on 27 March 2019, and more than two weeks later, he underwent orthopedic surgery with lateral iron supports, that supposed to be taken off on 30 April 2019. But until today, the prison administration is still delaying in taking him to the hospital for follow-up. There is a fear that the fracture may be worsen or not properly heal, as the sources mentioned.
The sources also quoted the mother of the detainee, Yousef Hassan Jassim, as saying that he was deprived of treatment. She has been told on Tuesday, 2 July 2019, that her son, Yousef , had been subjected to medical negligence and carelessness. He was subjected to ill-treatment by a prison guard who dragged him to the ground after he asked to see a doctor because he suffers from diseases, in addition to being transferred to solitary confinement repeatedly for no reason.
Yousef is sentenced to life imprisonment on political charges and suffers from diseases and complications from neglect of treatment, including acute pain in the stomach, and suffers from tooth pain and problems in the bones and joints.
