According to human rights sources, the prisoner of opinion, Hussein Ibrahim al-Tawail, began a hunger strike since Monday (10th June 2019), because of the delay of treatment by the Central Joe Prison Administration.
According to the sources , he is suffering from diabetes, and side effects due to the instability of the sugar rate, caused by the neglect and recklessness of the prison clinic or the nurse who gives him the dosage of medication, since he receives treatment irregularly, which often causes a sharp drop in sugar. This has resulted in some negative symptoms, such as lack of vision, imbalance, fatigue and severe pain in the joints.
Al-Tawail’s family called on the prison administration to take responsibility, and urged the human rights authorities to move and save him before any deterioration in his health.
It is noteworthy that the detainee Hussein al-Tawail- 29 years, is serving a life sentence in building 1, in the Central Prison of Joe, on the backdrop of political charges, as confessions were extracted under torture.
As a result of the policy of denying treatment by al-Khalifa entity, the prisoner “Mohamed Ali Badaw” from al-Deraz town is ill too and suffers from severe pain in his teeth, as the Dry Dock Prison Administration is refusing to transfer him to the clinic.
