On Monday, 8 April 2016, the hero Hassan Abdel Wahab, was welcomed warmly by the residents of the town of Aley after 8 years in prison on political grounds.
Human rights sources reported that the conditions inside al-Khalifa prisons are very bad, as he drank water in bottles of Clorox, ate poor food and slept in harsh conditions. He was subjected to countless torture in Qureen prison for 22 days. His trial did not referred from military courts to civil ones, although he is a civilian, and the judgment was implemented in civilian prisons.
Wahab revealed that he had witnessed the events of Joe prison on March 10, 2015, where dozens of prisoners during their suppression were subjected to a "fissile weapon" used to control the protest.
It is worth mentioning that Hassan Abdul Wahab was arrested in March 2011, who is the first detainee from Aley after the declaration of emergency and martial law, where he was tried and other civilian citizens in military courts.
