The Chairman of the Shura Council in February 14 Revolution Youth
Coalition emphasized the widespread engagement with the event on the
first Friday of the blessed month of Ramadan, which marks the occasion of
the “National Day for the Expulsion of the American Base from Bahrain.”
This came in his speech on the occasion of the arrival of the blessed month
of Ramadan for the year 1446 AH, where he affirmed that the presence of
American bases in Bahrain is a form of occupation and a type of terrorism
that was never the will of the people, who are the source of authority.
Therefore, there is neither a legitimate justification nor popular acceptance
for this presence.
He stated that what has no justification must be confronted; pointing out
that this is not impossible if there is the will and determination, if unity of
purpose prevails, division is rejected, and everyone looks with insight
toward the country’s interests and the security of its people.
The Chairman of the Shura Council of February 14 Coalition stated that
there is no greater calamity than that of those who plunder the country and
rob the people under the guise of defending human rights. He added that
what is even worse is that some Arab regimes believe that the wicked is
good and the inferior is valuable. They spend vast amounts of money from
the state coffers and the pockets of citizens to preserve the seats of their
rulers, who believe that America is the protector and sponsor of their
positions, while abandoning their peoples—the true foundation for
safeguarding nations and building states where everyone can coexist.
It is worth noting that February 14 Coalition declared the “National Day for
the Expulsion of the American Base from Bahrain” in a statement issued on
Monday, May 29, 2017. The statement clarified that this initiative is not
bound by a specific timeframe but is rather a strategic project that will be
worked on with determination and willpower until its noble and legitimate
goals are achieved—goals that the people have demanded for decades.
These include reclaiming true sovereignty over Bahrain and ending the
dictatorial Al Khalifa regime, which has relied on the presence of the
American military base for its survival. This base has not only covered up
the Al Khalifa’s crimes for years but has also been complicit in them.
Moreover, it is one of the key pillars the U.S. administration depends on to
strengthen its military presence in the Gulf and the Middle East, with the
aim of fulfilling its strategic and economic ambitions and supporting the
Zionist entity.
