The Political Council of the February 14 Revolution Youth Coalition issued
the weekly position, which reads as follows:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
With the arrival of the month of the February Revolution, the minds and
hearts of our dear people in Bahrain are ignited as they recall the great
events recorded during these glorious days of 2011. It was then that they
firmly resolved to carve a new path toward freedom and liberation from
tyranny and corruption, drawing strength and hope from our nation’s rich
history of struggle and victories. On this occasion, we pause to reflect on
the final days leading up to the launch of the revolution on February 14,
2011—days marked by fundamental discussions and preparations, despite
the atmosphere of repression, brutal arrests, and the regime’s desperate
attempts to suppress the revolution by bribing citizens with money.
However, the people had already made their decision and were fully
prepared to mark a new day of the flood. We emphasize the importance of
revisiting the days preceding the revolution to draw lessons and inspiration,
learning from the experience of the revolutionary youth groups who united
to shape the overall framework of the revolution. They meticulously
planned its details—both in form and substance—while seeking guidance
from national figures who spared no effort in offering support and direction,
ensuring that February 14 would emerge in the most powerful and
impactful way. This was a purely national movement, forged through the
participation of the people from all cities and towns across the country.
On this occasion, and in light of recent developments, we highlight the
following key points in our weekly position:
1- The new generations in our homeland, Bahrain, are in urgent need of
understanding the preparations and courageous sacrifices that gave
birth to the February 14 Revolution. This requires providing a
comprehensive and objective account of all the events and positions
that have shaped the ongoing revolution to this day. We emphasize
this necessity in the face of significant dangers posed by the Khalifi
regime’s projects aimed at distorting the history of national struggle.
These projects are not limited to security programs and misleading
media but extend to the establishment of research institutions and
study centers, where the regime mobilizes hired writers to produce
research and historical materials that serve its narrative and agenda.
In this context, we urge all those committed to our revolution to work
seriously and collectively toward establishing a comprehensive
documentation and research center dedicated to the Bahraini
revolution. This center should focus on recording and analyzing all
events and historical records related to this glorious day. We believe
that such a research project deserves to come to fruition as soon as
possible, receiving the necessary support and attention. This would
be the most valuable contribution to the revolution and its people on
its fourteenth anniversary.
2- It is no secret that the Bahraini revolution has faced significant
challenges throughout these years. We believe that what has
transpired is akin to the usual challenges that popular revolutions
encounter throughout history. The people and their national forces
must always be prepared for such challenges, which should
ultimately enhance their experience and resilience in facing adversity.
Therefore, the relative decline in popular movement, the reduced
revolutionary presence in the streets, and similar occurrences should
not be perceived as failures or defeats for the revolution. Rather,
these are natural phases for mass movements, which are often
compelled to change their tools or refine their strategies according to
evolving circumstances. Our people in Bahrain have repeatedly
demonstrated their exceptional ability to devise appropriate methods
for every new situation, as long as the goal remains steadfast
resistance and the refusal to surrender to the tyrant Hamad. We have
witnessed this adaptability in remarkable instances such as the Al-
Fida’ sit-in in Diraz, the adherence to religious rituals during the
COVID-19 pandemic while observing health precautions, the
solidarity of prisoners’ families with their sons’ repeated uprisings,
and the continuous innovations in protest methods and march
organization despite repression and intimidation.
3- We affirm that the crises unfolding in the region, particularly after “Al-
Aqsa Flood,” present a crucial opportunity for mass movements to
reassert their position once again in confronting oppressive regimes.
However, the response to this remains minimal in most Arab
countries. Despite our awareness of the differing contexts, we
acknowledge that our people in Bahrain have not hesitated to form
their positions and engage in protests movements on multiple levels.
This popular resolve—expressed through unwavering support for the
resistance in Gaza and Lebanon and outright opposition to the
American-Zionist project—would not have emerged without the
burning spirit of struggle passed down through generations. In
particular, we emphasize the significance of the February 14
Revolution, which has played the most vital role in keeping the path
of resistance illuminated with hope, awareness, national commitment,
and steadfast dedication to the causes of the nation.
4- In this context, we affirm that the disgraceful behavior of the Khalifi
regime regarding the wars and developments in the
region—particularly in Gaza and Lebanon—is merely a reflection of
its inherent nature, which aligns perfectly with the Zionist entity and
the American and British devils. It was no surprise to our people that
the tyrant Hamad and his gang sided with the Zionists, the
Americans, and the normalizers advocates against the resistance
forces in Gaza and Lebanon, while conspiring against the support
fronts in Iran, Yemen, Iraq, and Syria. Our people, who chanted for
the downfall of this tyrant during their revolution, know well that he is
a liar, a breaker of promises, a murderer of innocent souls, a violator
of dignity and sanctity, and a destroyer of mosques, and that his
character is nothing but betrayal and alliances with murderers and
terrorists. That is why he was among the first to establish contact with
Ahmad al-Shar’a (al-Joulani) after the fall of the Syrian regime, and it
would not be surprising if he were to invite him to visit Bahrain, given
his regime’s deep ties with takfiri groups in Syria and their infiltration
into the Khalifi security apparatus. The days have proven that these
groups serve foreign agendas rather than achieving freedom for the
brotherly Syrian people, as evidenced by the way (al-Joulani)
appointed himself president of the Syrian state. Then, the tyrants of
the region—including Hamad—poured in to congratulate him for
monopolizing power and disrespecting the Syria’s sovereignty and
the sanctity of its holy sites. In doing so, they blatantly ignored the
Syrian people’s right and will to self-determination.
