The Political Council of the February 14 Revolution Youth
Coalition issued the weekly position which reads as follows:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
On August 14th, we mark the fifty-third anniversary of Bahrain’s
independence from British colonialism. This occasion comes
amidst dangerous conditions and developments caused by the
Khalifa regime, which has signed treaties, agreements, and
alliances that have significantly harmed national sovereignty.
Furthermore, these actions have bolstered new forms of
colonialism in the country, serving imperial ambitions and
arrogant projects in the region, including supporting tyrannical
regimes and thwarting popular movements calling for freedom
and liberation from hegemonic forces.
From the outset, the Khalifas have sought to obscure
Independence Day and distort its meaning, reflecting their
disconnection from the country’s history and their opposition to
the long struggle of the people against colonialism.
In this weekly position, we outline the following key points:
1- On the occasion of Bahrain’s independence (August 14,
1971), the triumphing of our dear people’s will in breaking
free from British colonialism after decades of national
struggle and gaining the right to draft their own constitution,
the British plan ensured that their agents, the Khalifas, would
continue to hold power and impose oppression and tyranny
against the people, as evidenced by the suppression of the
brief parliamentary experiment in the mid-1970s and the
suspension of the 1973 constitution, until the era of the
tyrant Hamad, who is loyal to his British masters came, who
abolished the 1973 Constitution and imposed his new
constitution under the guise of the so-called “National
Charter.” This plunged the country into a dark tunnel,
necessitating a massive popular uprising on February 14,
2011, to save the nation from a systematic demographic,
historical, and social destruction, as well as political and
economic devastation. The only option left for the people to
continue the struggle of their forefathers for complete
independence from colonialism and tyranny is to achieve
their goal of self-determination through drafting their own
constitution and building a just and capable political system.
2- In our political position issued on July 15, 2024, we
expressed our condemnation of the level of security
coordination between the Khalifa regime and some officials
in the Iraqi Republic. We warned of the potential increase in
targeting of visitors and displaced persons from our dear
people during the sacred Ziyarat Arba’een. We had hoped
that the Iraqi officials would resist the unjust Khalifa desires.
However, the recent abduction of the wronged displaced
person, Sayyed Hashim Sharaf, at the Iraqi-Kuwaiti border
reveals the malice of certain security agencies in the region
and their collusion with the Khalifas to inflict injustice on the
people of Bahrain. We condemn these vile practices and
hold all those involved in yielding to Khalifa demands and
certain security agencies in neighboring countries fully
responsible.
3- The return of coordination meetings between officials of the
Khalifa regime and the so-called “Peninsula Shield” forces
brings to mind the criminal role these military forces played
against the people of Bahrain during their blessed revolution
in 2011, and the grave violations they committed that the
people of Bahrain will not forget. We view these meetings at
this sensitive stage in the region as a dangerous indicator of
preparations for these forces, led by the Saudi regime, to
resume repression and killing on Bahraini territory. This
necessitates vigilance and caution against a possible
proactive security assault that Bahrain might face, taking
advantage of the regional and international focus on
unprecedented escalation.
4- We strongly condemn the heinous crime committed by the
Zionist enemy against Palestinian civilians at the “Al-Tabi’in”
school in Gaza, where American-made weapons were used,
taking advantage of the political cover provided by official
Arab silence, particularly from normalization countries. We
reaffirm, along with our people in Bahrain, our ongoing
support and solidarity with Gaza and its honorable
resistance. We express our strong rejection of the Khalifa
regime, which continues to avoid addressing our people’s
demands to sever ties with the Zionists and close the
Mossad embassy in the capital, Manama. We assert that the
Khalifa regime’s continued relations with the Zionist enemy
constitute an ongoing partnership in its crimes, including the
shedding of Palestinian blood and the committing of brutal
massacres and genocide in Gaza.
5- We affirm the legitimate right of the States of the honorable
Axis of Resistance and its forces to respond militarily to the
crimes of the Zionist enemy, to deter it from continuing its
arrogance and violating the rules of engagement, and to
pressure it to stop the brutal war in steadfast Gaza. We view
the call by the evil American administration and some of its
subordinate countries for the resumption of negotiations as
nothing more than a transparent deception and political
maneuver, giving the Zionist enemy more time to commit
massacres and achieve its aggressive objectives. While we
reaffirm our firm and resolute stance in supporting the Axis
of Resistance and providing it with all possible means of
support, we warn the criminal Khalifa regime against
participating in any technical or logistical support for the
Zionist-American aggression. Any form of Khalifa
cooperation in thwarting any jihadist actions by the support
and resistance forces will be considered a direct involvement
in this aggression, and they will have to bear all the severe
consequences.
